Do you want to get just the turbo or everythign you will need to put it on for that price? Also what other mods do you have or will you have on the car.

better idea.. get the supporting mods first and do the turbo last.. whats the point of buying the turbo first and keeping the boost down when you can buy mods and go faster on the stock turbo till you run out of the supporting mods and then upgrade the turbo..

well first off turbo back exhaust
single best mod for a turbo car, is the exhaust..

intercooler piping (optional)
for better flow..

better intercooler (optional kinda)
better side mount or front mount..

then fuel work (not optional)
injectors
fuel pump
AFC or some fuel control

My take on the moding list:

1. Exhaust, turbo back 3" if you want to run in the 12s
2. Upgrade all piping and go with a good bov or crush the stock 1g
3. Guages, boost, a/f, egt...
4. Upgrade to a large FMIC, at least 3" thick for a large turbo.
5. Upgrade all fuel, run a stand alone unit or piggy back. Just something!
6. upgrade to a larger turbo. 16g is capable of 12s.
7. Tune

16g is capable of 300+ to the wheels. if you want something more then keep looking or save your money. Do not buy ball bearing because you can not rebuild them(from what I hear).

I would deffinately wait on the turbo myself. You are running a 14b stock which is capable of alot more than the 16psi that the stock fuel will absolutely max out at. Unfortunately your mods are going to be done in groups in order for some of them to work. This will also minimize downtime...nothing worse than getting the current mod done then finding out that the car will not run until you get (insert part here) in from whichever store. It hurts to see the car sitting in the driveway for a week because you forgot you would need something.

Personally I would go in this order if i were shooting for those times.

1. get all your gauges in and working properly. It will help you have a baseline and allow you to tune inbetween mod groups. This includes a logger if you are serious.

2. Exhaust.

3. Intake (pre turbo). When you do this you are going to have to get an afc or do the whole fuel system at this time (assuming you do the mas mods with the rest of the intake).

4. FMIC.

5. Fuel...changing all that piping is going to radically change what your actual air in vs ECU expected air in and will allow you to push boost to 18psi safely(at a minimum).

6. Turbo!

In there you will probably break/wear out some stock parts...I say drive em till they break so there is no set time to replace them. Some of these are:

diffs
clutch
rear end
shocks
tires
etc

I would tune after each step to see what you have before you upgrade something else.

just the order i would go in.

the ones you listed are correct.. and you dont technically need both an EGT and Air/Fuel though I wish I had both for tuning reasons..

Big T-28 Or else a Mutt turbo from DSM-performance.com They come with the install kit

The Big T-28 looks like a desent upgrade for the money, because it is a bolt-on.

A Mutt would give you more power.

Remember to do all the supporting mods first. The T-25 can make some power. Check out Larryd's web page he has some dynos from when he had a T-25.

i say, u want to go fast, get a damn big28, want to go faster? buy a mutt, they are good and will bolt right into the 2g, want to go really fast?? spend the money, do it right the first time so you wont have to upgrade later and loose overall money, and go with a 20g with install, so what just thing 300$ thats prob what you cat-back cost, or your safc. why not spend that little extra more for loads of more power.

True, True. After dumpong almost $4000 in getting the bottom end done and a GOOD head put on. $300 for the bolt-on performance you are going to get is nothing.

These guys are right. If you are *****ing over $300 then you need to rethink your plans to modify your car. It's not cheap.

Best Turbo Upgrade for 2g

After finishing my 16g install this weekend I feel that I must agree with many other 2g owners when I say " this is the turbo this car should have come with". I upgraded from a used 14b to a small 16g and the difference is incredible. The 16g can be had for a about $600 and a about another $150 for misc install parts. The car pulls hard in almost every gear; keep in mind I only have the small 16g, I can't imagine what the big one is like. If I have to make a recomendation for a turbo upgrade it is definitely the 16g (big or small)

This question is a big NO NO. Turbos are purly based on opinion and what you want out of them. There have been sooo many posts on this topic. So the best turbo for a 2g is soley based on what you think is the best!!! Try out extremeturbo.com, forcedperformance.com adn any other site that sells the typical mitsu turbos...good luck!
