Order of operations-in the wrong order

I did the tbelt on my car when I did a swap and put the engine back in and everything. Now the only problem I have is trying to get the cover back on! I really dont feel like unbolting the entire side mount to get the thing on there so can i just cut it in half through the opening for the mount?

the more exposed it is the higher the chance of something hitting it, which would break it, i would not cut it in half. something like that is a good way to prevent u from doing another swap, unless u enjoyed it so much u wanna do it again i would put it on the right way
