coils?

Can someone tell me or show me how exactly to check the coils on a 2G gsx? I'm misfiring around 6k in 1st gear only if I launch hard. ( It's not fuel cut ) The plugs and wires are brand new so I think the coils is all it could be. Thanks.

Spark plug gap? Kind? Appearance?

the plugs are ngk. The gap was set at .028" I believe. They have a little blackening on them but still look fine.
