this may seem like a waste of space, but is obd II any harder to tune than obd I. i like the 95-99 bodystyle, but from what i know about other cars, it is sometimes more difficult to tune an obd II car. plus with inspections, all they have to do is plug in a scan tool, and they can tell anything they need to know. if i have a cat that i can bolt in for inspections, will i be able to pass. i have access to a scan tool to clear codes, so it shouldn't be a problem right? thanks.

I don't know about tunability, but I do know that with the OBDII EPROM you can order DSMLink which is supposed to be awesome. I've heard people that just swear by it and say that it's well worth the money. I personally will be ordering it as soon as I figure out how much it's going to cost to fix my car and see if I still have enough to order DSMLink. I've heard the contrary too, on rare occasions, that OBDII cars are easier to tune (VR6 GTIs, for example). On the other hand, 240SX owners want a car that's 95' or earlier if they're doing an SR swap, SR20DETs don't pass OBDII. It really depends on how stringent the state/shop you get tested by is, some states/shops just make sure you're CEL isn't on, others test the hell out of your car. It's really no big deal except for exhaust system mods, and even then you can buy fake 02 sensors and so forth. The best idea, find a friend at the shop .
