i have a 1998 eclipse spyder gst automatic with 24,000 miles on it. the transmission shifts smooth for the most part. but when i get to around 40-45mph or 2,000 rpm, it seems like the overdrive is fighting the other gear. like it shifts up and down constantly. in order to get out of this i have tried to step on the gas a little harder. i noticed that my boost raises, but i am still not moving anywhere, then finally it downshifts and i am flyin. i have read threads on this b4, but truly did not understand what the responses were. my question is, is this normal for a dsm automatic, and if not, wut do u think my problems are?
more background info.... 24,000 miles. car was bought in january 2003 with 19,600 miles on it. it was stock when purchased. now it has air/fuel gauge, boost guages, catbak exhaust with removed cat, injen intake system, upper ic pipe from throttle body to intercooler, and hks bov vented to atmosphere.
the transmission was doin this ever since it was stock.
please help, thank you

, 2 years and i still havent figured out when its gonna shift, Ive been going down the same hill for 2 years on my way home from work, Sometimes it shifts at the top of the hill, sometimes in the middle, sometimes at the bottom, and sometimes not at all......and by some chance it does shift, you have to ride the gas pedal real soft to get it to upshift back to normal. Did i meantion its Stupid?? So, its not you, its the Auto Tranny......=0( and we are stuck with it
