I have seen one before it was put on a car. It looks like a great exhaust. Welds look good, and the 02 eliminator piece is beautiful. I haven't heard one, but I was told by a guy that put one on a car that the exhaust sounds really good. I am ordering the same one soon.

Hey i was still wondering what people thought about this exhaust and if anyone has purchased one recently. Also if anyone knows of a nice turbo back exhaust for cheap that has a nice deep growl then let me know.

I just recieved my turbo back o2 elim exhaust and I must say it looks good. I am a little disatisfied with the welds on the o2 elim. housing ( there are about 3 pinholes in the entire exhaust. I am still happy with the rest of the system.

Mine came with an angled ex. tip and the 3in madrel bent piping is huge. I got it without the higflow cat and it is flanged so that when you want to switch it out for emissions it is a snap.

Overall----> Thumbs up for the system, thumbs sideways for the welds.

Seems to me that all exhausts sound good on turbo cars. Mine is a custom one that i didn't have made the guy before me did. I don't like the way it looks, but it sounds pretty good. Only thing i wanted on that exhaust was an angled tip

I dont know if i would say best. All 3 inch stainless steel exhaust systems are pretty comparable. Based on price ill say  its the best. I did my FULL exhaust, manifold and O2 for about half the VRS price.Dejon..... cant beat it.

$900 WTF That's pretty pricey if you ask me. I think I'm just going to get the Megan when the time comes. Granted it isn't o2 eliminating, it will be less than $600 with a full stainless high flow cat with SS flanges.

I was also thinking about getting the megan...also looked at the vrs and RRE turbo back. I still havent made up my mind. RRE can make your exhaust exactly how you want it. VRS has been recommended to me several times but my funds wont let me. That is why I was thinking of going with the megan downpipe and cat back. Very tough choice

Um I know this is a dumb question but where can I buy these 3" turbo back exhaust? Also, which one should I go with and why? Finally, what's the best bang for buck exhaust out there? Thanks, Tom.

I used to have a VRS downpipe-back exhaust. I paid $650 for mine it was a 2.5 inch SS with a test pipe, was hella nice and sounded awsome, i sold the catback off it and got an Ebay 3inch catback and my VRS downpipe/testpipe mated right to it. If your looking for a cheap exhaust take a look at Dejon's and check out the ebay ones. I give VRS a :thumb: though its a great product.

Artago, to answer your question, you can get a VRS exhaust from VRS themselves but you'll have to pay shipping from Miami. You can also get a VRS from Slowboy Racing. That's where I got mine , which came from Pennsylvania. I'm sure you can probably get a Megan directly from them. Just check over the supporting vendors. I'm sure one of them carries Megan stuff.

it is a good exhaust, one of my buddies has it on his 93 tsi....but you could save a little money also.
What I did (even though mine is a 98) just buy the downpipe. if you buy the o2 eliminator housing unit, that is better for a little more airflow, but you do not have to have it. Install the downpipe. If it has a flex pipe option, get that. Therefore, you can have a little more play with the pipe. Now, you have a few options.

You can run balls to the wall - in other words, go up to your local auto parts store, buy some 3 inch piping, weld her up (or cruise up to your friendly neightborhood muffler shop and drop 60-100 dollars and have them do it) and you are good to go. minus the possible computer freaking out about no cat. If that happens, its another story and go find an o2 senor simulator.

Other option - buy a high flow cat, THEN buy the 3 inch piping, and continue the previous steps as listed above. I chose the top option and here is what it costed me:
downpipe - $400
muffler - magnaflow race thing $100
piping - $50
o2 simulator - $20 (ebay special)

and if you think you really need it the high flow cat - $100 (or you could just piss off your emissions people or live in middle of nowhere iowa like me!!!!)
This is FAR cheaper then buying a whole exhaust, but it does take some time.

oh, and p.s.-----after you get that downpipe on, before you weld up the other piping, make sure you go running around your neighborhood. the sound that car makes when its just the downpipe is pure heaven :)
