sry guys i dunno what happened there but ill just try and retype it all since it didnt work...ok my promlem is that i got my new phantom autometer water temp gauge and im havin trouble hooking it up...it doesnt work with my stock water sensor so i tried taking it out and putting the one that came with the gauge on but the senson is a little too long to catch the threads so i put the stock one back on and then tried using an adaptor that came with it to hook it up to a different sensor on the water pump but when i finally got that hooked up i realized it regualtaed my radiator fans cuz they were just goin on full blast full time so finally what i did was hook everything back up to normal and now im stcuk and dont know what to do...any help would be much appreciated...thanks guys

Well grammar is going to be pressed in this... but anyhow, it sounds like you may not know what your talking about. Do you have a mechnical gauge or an electrical? My guess is you have a mechanical gauge as you said it came with a sensor. So you will have to either find a place on the radiator (not sure about 2g's) to tap into or just drill and tap it yourself (as long as you are consious of where your tapping into). Then just hook up the power and ground for the light and thats it as far as the install...

any gauge using a sensor is electrical. there is no sutch thing as a mechanical temp gauge-- thats like saying ya have a mechanical volt meter. Most people using a temp gauge in a 2g -- prob allready have a 1g head wth a 1g water neck, this makes it REALLY clean and easy to install as there are extra unused holes in the water neck when installed in a 2g. ya said you used the fan switch hole , id try the acual temp sensor hole- or drill an tap a new hole in the water neck somewere.

You know what I mean. Autometer has two series of water temp gauges, one that says elec. the other that says mech and comes with a gauge with a ground/power for the light and a sensor...the one that I have says mech. on the box:rolleyes: so whatever "different" kind of autometer gauges you have I guess you could be right. How many gauges do not use a sensor? How is it that most people using a temp gauge have a 1G head...Ive never heard that before:confused:

Also forgot to add... If you do go into the water neck or something similar you will have to obviously use an adapter/reducer. Make sure if you do this you only use one as you want the probe in as far as possible and there isnt much room In the neck at all anyway. We did this on my buds car just like 4 days ago and he used to adapters and it stuck out far from the neck and was giving shitty readings...
