Edgewater,
I have some seriously rusted bolts that connect my cat to my exhaust and i was looking for some tips on how to go those bolts out of their. BTW my car is a 95 Talon AWD Tsi if that gives you a better idea

heat em up a little bit, should come right off. Took of my exhaust manifold cover the other day, snapped the first bolt, the rest were worse and I heated em just a little and they came right off.

Try PB Blaster, the stuff works wonders at breaking bolts loose. Just spray it on the day before you are going to break them loose and then about an hour before and they should come loose. If not, try a little heat and see if that helps.

I ran into problems getting my calipers off, cursing and swearing the whole time with a can of pb blast. It depends how bad they are, and if the PB is penetrating the threads. Heating them up makes the job effortless. A friend of mine brought his torch over and we were able to get them loose within 5 minutes (what took me almost an hour of trying with the PB). Torch em' all the way :thumb:
