Ok so long story short. I shipped my head to be built. Ups lost it and I got a head finally but there are a few missing parts and differences. None of my valve cover bolts fit? They are too big or a different thread (wtf?). What connects my cam angle sensor to the cam? The other cam just take a half moon between head and valve cover??

That half moon , is just were a piece of plastic goes, also along with the valve cover gasket.

Also what the story on the head? You may have to tap into the head to make threads for what i assume is your 7bolt 2g CAS correct?

Lastly i have had a similar issue with the valve cover bolts not fitting, it was different 2ga-2gb heads , this may or not be the case.

Your missing the half moon part of the gasket There should be two holes for the cas bolts to go into, pics of valve cover, any ?
more pics

OK so I guess I figured out the valve cover bolts. Apparently my old head had to be tapped. I used my timing belt cover bolts to check the head and they fit. Guess I'll just have to order new valve cover bolts. Well I sent my head somewhere in march. They shipped it back in June but ups lost it. They built me another and I barely got it Friday. Then I open the box up and no rockers or lifters. I sent a complete head and am having to piece the rest together. I'm going to call them Monday and let them know everything I'm missing. So far I have cam gear bolts, lifters, rockers, oil delivery body and whatever it is that goes in the end of the cams. This shit is driving me crazy. Oh and I guess I need a new throttle body now. I'll have to call to find out what fits the smim. Everything is a huge cluster ####. Never again will I try to assemble my motor. I'll ship it and have someone else put it together. Here's a pic of my cam angle sensor.

This the half moon I need? EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

I found a pic. What do you call this? Cam angle sensor housing? Idk how to look it up to get a new one. Everything else I've got.

You will have to pull the intake cam and drill/tap it to accept that style of cas.

Check with some of the supporting vendors for that style cas.

Ugh I don't trust myself to drill or tap anything. Lol is there a way around that? Buying a different style cas maybe? Cams are gscs2. If I have to I'll take it or ship it somewhere to be done. Just curious of my options here. I wish I would of just had you do my head from the get go bogusSVO.

Your best option is to lisen to bogusSVO and just have it tapped(machine Shop) or buy one, it's just a stock cam,

The other alternatives aren't as logical.

About any decent machine shop should be able to drill down the center line of the cam, and tap it for your bolt down CAS.

8mm x 1.25 IIRC

There is a decent starter hole in the back of the cam.

Or just contact who did the head or GSC, they may be able to swap you the cam you need.

IDK off the top off my head, but if you go 1.250 -1.500 deep you should be good.

As long as the bolt doesn't bottom out, you will be fine.

The original bolt is 40mm long so ~1.5" deep, maybe more, would be wise.

Now, you're asking what else you need to bolt that cam sensor to the cam and head, in addition to drilling and tapping the intake cam. If you have only what you've shown in your pictures, you will probably want to find a part out. For a brand new, original setup, you will need:
 • MF241261 -- Above mentioned bolt, M8 x 1.25mm pitch x 40mm long
 • MD327621 -- Camshaft position sensing cylinder
 • MD622021 -- Camshaft position sensor o-ring (recommended based on the looks of the o-ring on your sensor)
 • MF140003 -- Camshaft position sensor bolt, M6 x 1.00mm pitch x 12mm long, bolts the sensor to the cylinder support housing
 • MD344722 -- Camshaft position sensor cylinder support housing
 • MD329503 -- Camshaft position sensor cylinder support housing gasket
 • MF140025 -- Camshaft position sensor cylinder support housing mounting bolt to cylinder head, M8 x 1.25mm pitch x 20mm long (qty. 2x)
 • MD329502 -- Camshaft position sensor cylinder support housing cover
 • MF140204 -- Camshaft position sensor cylinder support housing cover bolt, M6 x 1.00mm pitch x 14mm long (qty. 3)

Basically, you need it to look like this with a cover on the end where the big opening is: CAS.... WTF?.

All of the main components (sans a few of the bolts) can be pictured here: DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com - View Single Post - 2g CAS Oil Leak.
