alright everyone it's one of those worse case scenario wiring problems :ohdamn:

I really don't understand what is wrong, to make none of my turn signals work at all. If you press the hazard button, all of them flash and shows so on the gauge cluster, but nothing happens for left or right signal postion. All of the fuses in and out the car are good and properly fused, not sure how to check any of the relays

the hazards working shows the bulbs and wiring are in place for the most part, so on a for sure hunch I thought it had to be the turn switch itself, replaced it and no difference :(

does anyone know if the same power wire that makes the turn signals flash is the same wire used for the hazards if so I guess the wiring should be fine right? but if not then that could be a bad wire right? I hope someone has the answer..

Go to a salvage yard and pull the entire turn signal switch from another DSM, Dodge Avenger, or Chrysler Seabring. That's a normal fix for the signals not working while the hazards do. You'll have to pull the airbag off the steering wheel, pull the wheel off, remove the steering column covers, and remove the clock spring assembly. Be careful about removing the clock spring. It needs to go back on the way it comes off so the signals turn off automatically, and the ther electrics function right.

your hazard flasher is a multi purpose one part of it works the hazard and the other works the turn signals . try another flasher the part that works the signals could be bad .

HeThe entire assembly? The turn signal switch itselt is only a small piece of the steering and i think my ild switch is even testing good with the multimeter from what i can see. Take the steering wheel iff?

What part would that be exactly? I have a better chance to look it up since i don't have aby junkyards to check out

so is there something else in the white piece assembly other then the turn switch and wiper switch? I'm still confused to what exactly since you say 8 which is the turn signal switch itself, which comes out without the steering wheel being removed. and has been replaced by itself again.

is this where the flasher relay I've been reading about it located?

Guess it could come off without the wheel being removed. It's been awhile since I removed it all. Every time I've removed it, the wheel came off anyway. You could give it a shot without removing the wheel first. The flasher relay is bolted to a metal plate behind your stereo (on the right side). Since you have a Talon, it has 3 wires.

okay well recently I did add 2 new gauges with a custom pod that replaces the center air vents, so I decided to tap into the existing power wires. Starting to wonder if having the gauges on messes up the strobe affect, or something. Although I'm pretty sure I brought in a 'strong' ground strait from the battery.

some smaller chance I may have bumped the relay since I don't have a cd player installed. i'm guessing i'll have to trace back some wires though from the headlights and up the harness.

Sounds like a relay. U checked for power at the bulb? U said fuse was ok? Next would be the switch, then the relay. Got power at the switch? Need to test components to elimate potential issues.

The power for the turn signals comes through the hazard switch's 16 gauge black wire (which comes from the 10amp junction block fuse #4). The power for the hazards comes through the hazard switch's 16 gauge red/white wire (which comes from the dedicated 15amp fuse #4). Power for both then goes from the hazard switch to the turn signal/hazard flasher unit in a single 16 gauge green/orange wire.

Thanks for the wiring information.

Do you happen to know where i can get a new flasher unit or new relays for the out side fusebox?

it turned out to be one of my guesses - I had 2 things tied into the power of the hazard lights button. grounded seperatley each, away from the harness, caused the turn signals from both sides not to work at all, but the hazard lights would still work.

before I took apart the newly added wiring, I checked the bulbs physically since I learned they were dual filament, both turn bulbs up front had both filaments still intact, and appeared that only one set comes on with the hazards pressed. not sure what happens when you put the turn signals on but I'm just glad to see them back on :thumb:

my signals and hazards dont work, the indicators on the dash light up but the bulbs dont , they used to hyperblink so I replaced my turn signal switch and my flasher relay. The relay slowed down there blink but they still dont light up. People are telling me my hazard switch could be the culprit how can I check this?

If you have a spare hazard switch, just hook it up to see if the lights work after. The hyperflash condition usually means that a bulb has blown, if the hyperflash is on one side. When was the last time the bulbs worked properly?

before my alternator blew up. then it seems like everything pooped out i think the relay for my sunroof is fried too should i just replace all the relays. There is a junkyard that's close by that why i ask
