Could crushing BOV help this issue?

I am not asking how to crush the BOV. That information was relatively easy to find. My issue is I got the oem 1g BOV and it leaks pretty bad. It is actually new, but past a point where I can return it by saying it is defective. It leaks out the recirculating tube while boosting and prevents my car for going over 8-10 PSI of boost. I have an MBC, but just seems to work the turbo harder by turning boost up for no gain due to the leak. The previous owner was venting with an APEXI BOV and it boosted around 16 PSI without issue, but needed changed because the venting caused the car to die after every shift.

My question is, until I can afford one that isn't a risk like these 1Gs seem to be, would crushing it be a potential temporary fix to stop the BOV from leaking?

I guess I am not entirely sure what is wrong with it. The vacuum line from the manifold is connected, and there is no leaks at the gasket which is also brand new. The BOV itself is practically brand new. The outlet for the recirculating tube just leaks air like crazy when doing a boost leak test. It leaks at as low as 2-3 PSI and gets worse with more pressure. Under load while driving it limits the boost.

Check out the piston for damage.

How do I check it?

I was, but I think I screwed it up. Luckily I found the issue though... The MBC hose was to big and was leaking, and the MBC was also low quality. I replaced the hoses with smaller ones to stop the leak, and then tightening + testing over and over again. Looks like doing the garage mod I did was just a bonus. It only took a trip to the store and 20 minutes.

Is it normal for the MBC to have like a 10 PSI range of control with only 2 rotations of it? It was super hard to get the setting I wanted.
