Hey guys here is my problem I have a 95 tsi with a jackson stage 3 awd transmission and dsm link. The engine in it is shot and im looking for a mildly built long block(forged internals some head work) i am short on cash only about $1000 to $1500 cash but i have more aftermarket bolt-on parts to put on 2 engines that im willing to use to offset the cost.

Some of the things i have are 6 bolt long block not sure of mileage looking through it, it seems to be in decent shape, 7 bolt long block i was going to build but don't have the time or money to get it done. 26"X 12X 3 fmic, 38mm tial wastegate, 750cc injectors, 2g gst 5 spd transmission, gst engine cradle, virgin eprom from a 1995 gst, stock 99 gsx rims no tires, turbo xs boost controllers, turbo xs wastegate, stainless t3/t4 exhaust manifold, t3/t4 70 trim turbo powdercoated blue,3in stainless turbo back exhaust, then i have stock 14b turbo on manifold, stock side mount intercooler, stock and aftermarket mirrors, factory 95 wing red, fiberglass body kit i have 2 front bumpers side skirts rear bumper, and im sure much more but this is what i can think of off the top of my head.

If anyone can help me out please feel free to comment or pm me on here i would like to trade as much as possible to keep the cost down, im just wanting to get my tsi running as soon as possible btw im from central Ohio

I've been keeping my eye on the classifieds and it wont let me post a wtb yet due to me being a probationary member right now

What are your long term goals? With two blocks already and $1500 its seems like you should have enough parts and starting money to at least get one block fully running. A full rebuild kit is like.... $800 minus a crank and rods... but you already have 8 rods and two cranks... then plan on like $400 to have either a hone/bore and the block checked and cleaned and one of your cranks balanced.

A Napa crate motor is $2600, anything "built" after that is usually $3500+

Getting a built short block with the dollar amount listed above will be hard...But good luck

Fixed it for you :D

right now my goals are to get a good running engine that can handle upwards of 25lbs of boost the 7 bolt i have is in running condition nothing wrong with it. Im just wanting to get something to hold more power than factory hopefully push 500 hp down the road my long term plans are to transfer everything into a new shell which i already have but i want to have it pretty much dialed in before i do that. I just opened up my own business not too long ago so my time and dedication is spent elsewhere right now.

Well, to hit 500 hp your going to need $1500 in fuel upgrades and tuning solutions... so what $$$ will you use to build the motor?

ive got everything else that i need tuning, injector, fuel pump wise that i need the only other issue i may run into would be axles but if i can get the car tuned before they break LOL that wont be a big deal

the car already has larger fuel lines ran regulator wide band and i have a dsm link as well

In my honest opinion I'd disassemble the running motor. Get it all checked out by a shop top to bottom, master gasket kit, hone, re ring, arp studs, new bearings and belts, assemble with all your parts and tune.

Sadly that's $1500 worth of a rebuild. You may have wiggle room for a set of used aftermarket rods in there. But buying good quality parts like belts and gaskets is going to take a large chunk of that cash.

Edit: I've been having oiling issues with my car that are temporarily fixed. Over the last 24hrs I've been in contact with 2 machine shops and have been looking at rebuild kits etc. My responses are coming from the quotes I got to just rebuild a stock block again. About $1700 in parts and machine work. From there you'd have to assume about 2 grand for a good full rotating assembly if you wanted to go balls out, crank, rods, pistons.

The stock block isn't a turd, with 750's as injectors your not going to get into a power range it can't handle unless the tune is terrible.

i could probably do that the block is in great shape only thing it might need would be honed which is simple to do im needing to get rid of some of those parts as well which was some of the appeal for doing trades for me i need the space and most of it is stuff i wont use or need
