Hello everyone.

I really need some help figuring what a part is called. I attached a picture with the part circled in pink.

Is it part of the A/C System? In my Spyder GS that part has duct tape on it from the last owner. Could this be the reason why my A/C isn't blowing cold air due to a leak in that spot?

And if it's not part of the A/C system, please correct me.

Thanks

Have you recharged it recently? Try the UV dye for leak detection. Used it on my old s10 and worked really well.

Rip out the ac more cleaner less weight about 40 lbs and remove ac condensor infront of the raidiator and behind the fmic helps with airflow. Also one less belt the engine has to turn maybe like 2 hp increaes :D?

OK man. I'm guessing that since you're east of LA that you probably get hotter than dammit in the summer. The real questions are is this car your dd and if so are you willing to sit in hour car with the windows down in traffic when its 98 outside. I live in humid ass tn and only have two (out of 17) cars that has ac. If you want to keep your ac then we can help. If you want absolute performance out of said vehicle and are willing to pay the price then we can help with that too. You can rip everything out. You can repair the system yourself or you can just take it to the local ac/usually radiator shop too and pay them to do it. What we need to know first and foremost is what are your goals from this car.

Find the leak and replace the hose. May just be from a fitting that's leaking. I would advise against the leak stopping additives. Every time I've used one it clogged up everything but what I wanted it to. Looks like you could get everything you need to test for ~$30. Bonus: you get to play CSI with the UV Pen and glasses. Looks like you could get that top line for ~$20 too if it's the one I see in my searches. Just make sure you're putting the r134a/UV Dye in the right orifice. I'm not sure where it is on the 2g's but I'm sure you could find it with a forum search here. Good Luck.

For your little girl's sake, leave it on. Plus the resale will be that much better. They are on ebay often if need be.

You cannot duck tape this line the pressure is far to great, are you sure there was not a hose or wire duck taped to it? So the tape was not to stop a leak but to hold something in place?
