Question on injector size and ecu

how big of injectors can i go in my 420a without having to buy a MS system? I just plan on running a 55-75 wet shot of nitrous so i figured i could up the injector size a bit to get some more fuel going through her for that reason.... any input would be greatly apreciated
 
If you plan on buying any injectors larger than stock you are going to need a way to compensate for it, youll need to tune. Are you planning on building a motor? imo your in for a rough time running nitrous on a 420a, but i also have never worked on a talon with a 420a
 
I read a funny joke probably on this website somewhere. Im saying it wrong but its something to the effect of you could go out with a girl who is pretty and find out that shes a tranny the hard way or the easy way. you could put nitrous on a stock engine but some of the parts are not intended to take that kind of power and you will spend money rebuilding your engine anyway. or you could do what you know is reliable. tranny is not short for transmission in case you didnt get that. 5000$ to build the engine your self. roughly.

I believe i have a 96 and the emblem is more like primos the second poster in this thread so I think yours is a 97. Which doesnt make any difference in anything that i know of but fyi.
 
Yeah i have totally rebuilt the head entirely now LOL, bc springs and retainers, supertech valves, 3g lifters, seals, went with the bronze type guides which im hoping i wont regret, bc 272's aem cam gears and right now im waiting on my rods and pistons to start the lower end build...decided not to go nitrous route but just doing a lower boost set up...i know most people will give me crap about turboing a 420a but i have always wanted to LOL....went with 660cc injectors and later on once the engine is totally done ill be dumping more paper fpr the megasquirt system...oh the joy haha
 
Just run a wet shot of nitrous. No need for bigger injectors. Just make sure your fuel pump can supply enough fuel for the fuel injectors and the nitrous fuel solenoid. That's what I did on my Trans Am... I ran the nitrous fuel solenoid off of the fuel pressure regulator and placed the nozzle after the MAS.
 
Will a 190lph fuel pump be enough fpr that? I have one of those sitting in my room waiting to be put in. I already have the 660cc injectors bought so those are going in either way LOL...this is the first time turboing a n/t talon and i just want tomake sure its done right the first time to save cash and the hassle...been used to gst's that are already set for it so this is new waters for me
 
I thought the 420a came with 190's so the turbo upgrade injectors is actually our stock 450's?? Considering you are only going to run less than stock 4g63 boost levels.

I don't even have a 420a and I retained that info....

I think your waaaay over on injector size, considering the 660's are damn close to the cut of the safc tuning capability on the 4g63. That injector is almost 3 1/2 times larger than stock to run 8-10psi on your car.
 
worst comes to worst I can trade or sell the 660's and down it to 550, and im going to be using megasquirt to tune it once everything is done so i figured and have been told that will be able to avoid the fuel cut off as well as using the vortec fmu...I plan on just throwing my 14b I have sitting around on it and at most running 12lbs ( 8-10 more than likely) but since the head is now fully re done, and the block is 80 percent done, i figured i would be safe with that boost amount since everything will be forged internally. LOL didnt really know how expensive it really is boosting a 420a until i started doing it...but like i said, its something i have always wanted to do and it will give my DD a lil more ass while my tsi is being finished up :)
 
just running a normal 8:8:1, the only other options i saw was 10:5:1 and i dont want to go that high LOL, but everyone has told me for Daily drivers dont run more than 10-12lbs to save the motor, expecially since this is a 420a....im running a normal set up of weico pistons eagle rods, acl main and rod bearings, arm main and head bolts with a cometic HG, the cank is out to the shop to get redone for the rods and the block has been honed and hot tanked....think i could run more lbs of boost and be alright? I just dont want this to grenade 10k after i get it on the road LOL, and i can honestly say this is the only time ill be boosting a 420a....with all the money that has been dumped into it, coulda easily bought another gst or gsx and go nuts with it LOL
 
I'm currently running 19psi on the 14b and your internals are stronger than mine. I'm also using evo injectors all other mods are listed. I'm not sure if there are sleeves in that block but if so I would add those also just for added security.
