So i have the 98 gs for now and was looking to get a little extra hp out of it but keep it as a dd .:hellyeah: any cheap turbo that keep it safe for a dd but add some power ?

I tried looking on the forums but could not find any helpful kits or parts for some power. Let me know people, thank you! :D

If you want cheap, save up for an already turbo'd car. No such thing as a cheap turbocharged 420a.. Can be done but usually not reliable.

there is a search area at the top of every page. this subject has been covered many many times. you should read ALOT of the threads on here so you know what your getting into. and if you turbo'd your car cheaply it wont last.

Any mod that will help. Roughly a $1500 spending zone for me on this car.
Things like cold airs and such are like mythical 1-2hp, I was hoping to hit at least 200hp before selling LOL. I'm not to educated on the 420a. :hmm:

You are in the wrong platform in terms of adding power LOL. Would be better off saving up for a turbo model, and just keep your current one as a DD. 420a's make great daily drivers. Nothing more, unless you throw some serious cash to it.

Also,
any cheap turbo that keep it safe for a dd but add some power ?

Cheap, Reliable, and Fast. You can only pick 2.

Dont buy a gst or gsx because it too late and you already owned 2g. Face the fact, buying parts for 4g63 and 420a parts are the same price. There no cheaper, but if you didn't had 2g then i would say go for GST/GSX. Anyway Check on craigslist to see if there selling turbo kit around your area or just post an ad on this dsm craigslist that you want turbo, simple as that. :thumb:

you need alot more then that for 200hp. i dont even want to say how much money i have put into my car LOL and im still under 200hp close but not there yet.

if you really want to spend 1500 on parts i would get a header and exhaust, underdrive pulley, bigger throttle body, cold air intake, egr delete unless you have emissions and unless you did actual motor work thats all you could really do.

that makes no sense dude, he said he wants fast and cheap, 420a will not make fast for cheap. also, just because he already has a 2G doesn't mean he should not get a gsx.

and dont do what mickey said LOL do some homework man get to know more about what your putting money into. there is tons of threads on here just type it into the search and start reading. im sure someone will post a thread about reaching 200hp on the 420a or just look it up. it breaks down everything you could think of.

If you already owned 2g n/a, would you buy another 2g 4g63t? it would be a dumbass for wasting all that money unless if you willing to plan to swap it. (alot of work, I mean ALOT of work buddy).

No disrespect but i dont know why you against me if you owned 420a WTF. I like your profile picture, I wonder is your 420a has reach over 200 hp yet? :hmm:

If you plan on selling it don't even waste your money. You'll never get a return on the money you put into cars. But if your stick with the 420a I would make a n/a monster (well as monsterus as a n/a 420a can be) cause everyone turbos them and all spend alot more then they plan to.

if you actually wanted power with a turbo car then yes you would buy a 4g63 and scrap the 420a i think your confused buddy.

Yeah, i was thinking of a gst in the future as a next step up and keep the 420a as a dd or even just sell it. No swap though i know that is a mess. Haha ROFL

Yes your right my friend but what wrong with boost it on 420a? Low compression and boost it, It should have some good power. Im sure it will be over 210 hp.

First of all, if you owned a 2g n/a you wouldnt own a 4g63 so you wouldnt be buying "another". Anyway..

Now why would it be dumb exactly? Especially when you can get clean 2g n/t's for 1500? That comment really made no sense, I really hope you weren't trying to say that you would have to swap out the 4g63?

I don't think you understand that the 4g63 > 420 in every way.

And besides who mods their dd? Having a 2g n/t for a dd and a gsx for a weekend warrior is a pretty smart move in my book.

ahh now im speechless, you got all right LOL. (I might do that too):hmm:

He will spend WELL over 1500$ to go low compression, and buy a reliable turbo kit. You want reliable keep it DD and save your pennies. Now if you want a money hogging project (as myself) then expand your 1500$ limit a bit further. Do it once and do it correctly and you will get yourself some reliability.

it sounded like you meant another car itself, yes the 420a to 4G63T is almost pointless considering the cost, but buying a different car isn't.

you can piece together a turbo kit for the 420a in the $1500 range.
assuming you do all the installation and tuning yourself.
don't run over 8 psi (unless it's a tiny tiny turbo) on a stock block 420a.

with a proper tune, and 8 psi on a stock block, you'll be around 230 whp and reliable for a couple years (assuming your engine is in good shape before you turbo it. Might want to check on that first.)

I just had to add: Getting to 200 hp on a 420a costs alot of money and requires significant internal/head work. You most definitely would need much higher compression to get there as well as a higher revving engine.

Ive seen many 1g gst's on cl for around 1500. Bide your time, save some money, and buy one when you find one you like. I started into dsms in a 98 rs auto, then bought my gst. Now i have the talon as well. And let me say, im very happy i have what i have and DIDNT try to mod that chrystler pos LOL
