my first dsm with numorous problems

im hoping i didnt screw up with purchasing this car. ive fixed alot of the previous owners screw ups and problems, but now im running into more. today my car wouldnt go into any gear, it would either grind real bad or just flat out wouldnt go in, when the car was shut off i goes in all the gears fine. usually while driving it grinds going into 2nd gear. is that just my clutch going out on me? the clutch pedal still feels fine and i previously replaced the transmission with another factory one. looks like theres a small leak under my clutch cylinder as well. I also noticed a leak behind all my timing belts on the block. I'm supposed to take it to the shop tomorrow to get 2 bolts for my turbo manifold rethreaded on my block (the 2 bolts just pulled right out when i replaced the manifold), that too looks like its leaking in that area, but i think those missing bolts would be causing it? any ideas on any of this?

First off the trans isn't going into gear, second the slave cylinder is leaking. It is pretty simple, the slave is leaking and needs to be replaced. As for the oil leaking behind the timing cover, you will need to pull the timing cover and check it out. It could be the valve cover, cam seals, oil pump seal, balance shaft seal, crank seal, oil pump gasket or castle plug o-ring.

There is one stud for the exhaust manifold that goes into the oil passage, if you take it out, you'll get a massive leak.

As far as the clutch, There is most likely no pressure in the system and the clutch fork does not apply the clutch tha,t explains why when the car is off you can shift and when its on you gring. Step on the clutch and have someone look at the fork movement. No pressure is due to leaks and component wear.
