Question

O2 sensor question?

have a 98 talon with the 6-bolt swap, but still has the 2g wiring harness. the front O2 senor is hacked and spliced by the guy that i bought it from. my question is do i replace it with the o.e.m. , aftermarket or plug the hole? i will be installing an Innovative wideband o2 further down stream at about the fire wall. and do i still need the stock secondary o2 that is futher down stream normally after the catalitic converter? i'm new to tuning, so i'm still learning what will be need and what won't. i'm hoping to have it up and running so i can start working the bugs out of the car by september 1st. thanks for any help.

Using a stock replacement is the best idea for the front o2. Rock auto has Denso for about $30 and you can search for coupon codes. With that said get a new engine harness connector if needed and go through the splice and fix it if it needs it.

Since you are not using ECMLink, keep the rear o2 otherwise you will throw a CEL. Did you get the old model LC-1 or the updated (better) version which is the MTXL?

Yes you want to keep the front o2 sensor stock and with an oem replacement, which autozone has them for 50 bucks. You want to def keep your rear o2 sensor but when you install the wideband with a new bung ,weld it before the flex section about 12 in from it. Then wire it into the rear o2 position to the ecu so yiu can datalog it with whatever logging software you go with!
Best of luck
