Crower 272s??????
Looking for people who have these cams and how they do. I have been doing a lot of reading and it seems these cams are hard to dial in. I really was wanting to just drop them straight in and have them work ok. I had the bc 272s a few years ago and they seemed to work pretty good. I have a chance to get these crower 272s for a real good price.
Just blew my headgasket at the track friday night with my hx35 so while the head is off I am going to upgrade my stock cams, any help would be appreciated thanks.

I have them but i honestly dont know if they are better or worse than any other 272s. My machinist installed them when he was rebuilding everything. The idle has some lope to it, the top end performance is not insane, but def better than stock.

I would buy some used adj cam gears. From all the reading I've done it seems beneficial to decrease the overlap caused by bigger cams on a turbo engine. Personally, I don't like the idle with 272s installed straight up.

I ran Delta 272's before, which are HKS copies. I also had BC valve springs / retainers but I ran them on the stock cam gear...didnt have any issues wih that.

They arent to impressive if your looking for more power id rather spend the 500 and upgrade something else. They do make it sound very tough but in my opinion if your not shooting for the high horsepower than theres no need.

A friend of my runs those crower 272s with a holset hx40, the car makes over 500 awhp and peak HP is right about 8k rpms. I can't remember how much adjustment he has on his cam gears but I know some was needed.
