need some help!

HI I'm new here and i just picked up a very clean 92 vr4 galant. The trouble its having is that it hold vacuum but doesn't want to put out boost. previous owner had the vacuum like from the charge pipe to the waste gate. I hooked it back up to the boost selinod and it feels slightly better but still doesn't want to boost just bogs down. any ideas or what to look for? Im thinking a boost leak on the charge piping i did see something funny about it. any ideas would be helpful. I'm new to dsms but not to turbos and awd systems. my other car is a 2011 sti running low 11's. anyway all help would be appreciated! p.s i will be looking for problems van lines etc. tomorrow. just got home with the car.

thanks in advance,
dakota

The first thing you need to do is a boost leak test.

One very simple thing to do first: Check all clamps for tightness on all air system hoses.

i checked all hose turn out the top rubber intake hose was laying on the manifold i picked the car up for 1800 bucks its clean but still kinda has some hesitation when in boost very slight but i can feel it in the way it accelerate. any ideas? also when I'm spooling it make a very funny sound like a high pitched sound. so I'm going to look for another 14b turbo it possibly could have damaged it(boost leak condition). other wise its in the drive line some where. sounds like a bearing(sorta).

also this car seems to run extremely hot but the gauge says it fine. like i touch the hood and it very warm. do these car just naturally run hot?

A boost leak test doesn't involve just looking at the hoses. The only way to do one is to build a leak tester and pressurize the intake system.

if all clamps and hose are in good condition and tight no reason four a leak down test. however the hose that was bad was coming off the turbo i could stick two fingers in that bitch. so common sense is telling me that was the problem. car runs fine but does also have slightest hesitation not much at all.
