laser gold package

does anybody know exactly how many of the gold edition lasers were made?
I have heard only a handfull but that doesnt mean much, im sure there was more than 5 i have seen 5 on this site alone, couple were for sale too.
just wanted to know exactly how many. everybody says its the rarest 1g besides that prototype because there is only 1 of them.
Anybody have any ideas?

I believe they were an option for the RS from 92-93. Just think of all the people that parted them out, totaled them or rusted away.

They have got to be pretty damn rare. I would say like under 50 total.

well i have also seen that the package comes on n/a's as well as fwd turbo and awd. i have a 93 gold package awd automatic know how many of them there are?

1993 14,000.

Not all were awd, not all had the gold package and I bet there was minimal number ordered that were auto.So My guess would be less than 7k that were awd or auto.

From wikopedia. The RS could also be ordered with a Gold Package, which featured gold trimmed wheels, pin stripes and graphics. Only a limited number of RSs with this package were built, making them rare.

1993: AWD Lasers could now be ordered with an automatic transmission. With the automatic, the power rating of turbocharged models dropped to 180 hp (130 kW). All Lasers except for the base model could be equipped with ABS

The rarest would probably be the 98 talon.Or the 89 production date.And the 94 laser being a rival of rarest dsm with only 5200 being produced.

yea just check out my pics. I'm really trying to pin down exactly how many were made / how many are left i have only seen 1 other person with the green and gold laser. wish i still had the stock rims eventhough they're ugly as hell. Is there anybody that works at a plymouth dealership? I bet they could tell us how many were made all together. they should have put an exact number in them like the gvr4 ex: 248/1000.

The vr4 number plates are not in order..But if I had a low number one,I would not care.

Seems that total production numbers for 1993 was 14,300 for the Laser.

I've only seen one green/gold Laser in my lifetime and it was N/T and beat, I'm sure it's sitting in a junkyard somewhere close to the Ft. Collins/Loveland Colorado where I grew up. Good luck trying to know the exact count, you may have to just accept the fact you'll never know. There's a thread on here from back when our site was new ('04) asking about production numbers and there was never a definite answer for anything accept the GVR4's.

Once this thread has ran its course I'll merge it for others to find but for now, here's the link if you want to try doing some research as there are some links that others provided.

haha thanks man just needs paint. For some reason the lasers clearcoat likes to chip away. gold edition lasers also come in black red and silver, probably other colors too but these are the only verions i have seen online. i watched a video on youtube this guy was force drifting a 93 gold edition i was like wtf? Sad to think of all the owners that probably beat them into the graveyard not knowing how rare they actually are. i consider myself lucky i never seen another gold edition riding around or even sitting for that matter and i have been all over the midwest and southeast of the states, i have one of the few left. there was a member on here that was selling a black gold edition awhile back. also my car has no sunroof. here's the black one that was for sale god knows how old this post is but here ya go :FS: 93' Plymouth Laser RS(gold edition)

Oh yeah bud will a 5 speed fpr 450's and a 5 speed ecu on my auto work without a safc or do you need it no matter what?

As long as you have all 3, the ecu,450's and fpr yes it's a direct swap..If you don't have all 3 the answer is NO.

If you had an safc, chip blah blah, you could run the auto fpr.

I've still got my 1994 Laser RS AWD with the Gold Package, but like a noob back in the day I had it painted a different color, would be sweet to restore to original, doubt I could find the sticker package though

What she looked like back in the day.

Its Black on Gold, the old school picture is a little deceiving, its not green

im kinda on a tight budget until i get my school loans then ill probably pick up a safc 16 or 20g eprom ecu blah blah blah. know anybody that would want a auto eprom? its currently not working will need a rebuild.

I seen a laser the other day by subway.If I would have known that, I would have went and got me the flaps.But there probbaly only on gold editions.This was a fwd n/t.

okay i see now. if i see any 1g flaps ill pick them up for you. what year do they come on? theres a 90 gsx around here don't remember if it had them but i will check next time i go to that yard. have you ever checked out gibsons in neenah? lots of dsm's mostly non turbo but last time i went there was a tsi and tsi awd. they are pretty cheap because they are a pick and pull.
