Question

Over heating and lost horse power?

I put in a new head on my car and the timing is right but for some reason i do not have any horse power. The car drives as if it was stock. Also the car keeps over heating. I replaced the fuse, thermostat housing, water neck, radiator, thermostat, and water pump but the car still over heats and fans wont turn on but they did before. Any Answers?????

Thats most likely your problem and honestly, not the best idea.Do a compression test at the least but if it was me,I would pull the head and do it again with a torque wrench.Did you replace the head studs when you put the head on.I'm assuming you replaced the head gasket.

i agree with boostrunt. redo ## head and a new gasket. and if u dont have a torque wrench harbor freight sells decent ones cheap. as for ## overheating issue. i had a similar problem i was raking my brain after i had replaced everything then someone told me maybe its not overheating maybe its a bad gauge, check it with a infared laser and turns out it was a bad gauge not the car.

So yeah, read do your headgasket and properly torque it this time.

As for the fans not turning on, check to see if their fuse burnt out. After that, check and make sure that the wiring to your temp sensors is not brittle. The wires may have cracked when you removed the head and it may be causing your issue.
