so im looking into a new talon and the one i am supposed to go look at is a 92 tsi awd the guys says it has a bad injector coil and hits fuelcut at anything above 12 psi. so i dont what hes talking about with the injector coil could any one help me out as to what thats he is talking about. other then that looks good and it says it drives fine but ill see tommarow when i check it out.

Only thing I can think of that he may be talking about would be an injector resistor pack that they have against the firewall( talking about a 90-94 gsx) don't know exactly about an eagle. Hope it helps a bit.

He's probably referring to the coils inside the fuel injector itself. Take a DMM with you and test the resistance on the pins of the injector.

Why would he be running anything above 12psi if it's stock? Ask him how his boost is managed, what mods to support that are (hopefully a tune), and how long he's been running on higher than necessary boost. If too long, he could have damaged the internals which would explain why he's selling. Check compression before you buy it

he selling becouse he picked up 97 gsx and its not too modded exhaust, k&n, bov, afpr ect...never ran more than 14psi but dd it at 10. i was just wondering what he might be talking about with the injector coil? and how would that cause fuel cut. he said compression was 160ish across the board lowest being 156. i will bring my tester with me.

also what should the injectors read at with the DMM. injector resistor pack is what i was thinking also any one know how to test that? any who im supposed to go see it tomarrow so just trying to get as much info as i can before i go check it out.

Hey I noticed you live in the area! I seen that ad not too long ago..

All about fuel cut
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/frequently-answered-dsm-questions/186971-what-fuel-cut.html

For the idling issue-
Just a quick check, look at the throttle body and see if the BISS screw has been tampered with, see if the ISC is plugged in (just under TB, six wire connector, BROWN)

Look for heavy rust especially on the shock towers, crazy wiring hack jobs

The injectors resistance should be 2-3 ohms, a picture from my FSM is attached

Good luck

1g's don't have rusty strut tower issues.

Haha glad I'm on every day.... Well make that every couple of hours. I'm actually the one selling the car. We don't have salt in Montana. We use sand. One coil is completely dead. I can bring a tester just to confirm it for you. I did have a 16g on it. With proper fuel and tuning mods. Dsmlink. Wal 190. Fpr. Injector(don't remember size). I ran just 16 when I drove it. But I sold them and put it back to stock. Also using some on my 2g. I will have a compression tester with me and ready as well :D.

:ohdamn:
They use Magnesium Chloride before a snow hits and then sand for traction if the salt didn't prevent icing etc. That's why it's recommended to wash your car regularly in the winter months

this is awesome how ironic is it that the guy im looking to buy the car from happens to find this post good too know hes on here make me a little more comfortable that it isnt some kid who just drove it and didnt know how to work on it.

My bad NHerron I mistaken. I swear it was just sand they were dumping. You learn something new everyday! This is very irionic! Just glad there are people out there that care what they buy

ok i went and checked out the car and its is in very rough shape macanicaly sound just a ton of tedious things MAD boost leak kicks and spudders bad in boost. clutch is either shot or needs bleed Bad. but didnt tick or smoke starts right up. body is really bad on drivers side. has a check engine light on but wasnt able too see what it was throwing. i got to think real hard weather or not i want or have the time to deal with it. it suck i was really exited at the prospect of another talon i miss mine sooo bad
