Hey everyone, so me my father has had a business making AN fittings and fasteners for a while (25+ years experience) and I'm doing some research on the most popular sizes used in everyones engines, and fastener needed. These are of superb quality! He can make just about any size AN fittings, and has been for a while. Im just trying to help my dad move his company in the next level of business.
He's been making the parts in bulks of up to 30k at a time in single orders for very cheap. And i thought hey! why don't we just sell them ourselves and cut out the middle man! And now we are looking to cut out the middle man LOL. If you are helpful we may even do some free trials.

If you can give me a list of the most popular AN fittings used in DSM engine bays, or any other platform. We can hook you up with some FREE samples!!!

My Dad's business has been making these parts for a very long time. He can even make restricters for those turbos that you may need to keep the oil pressure down on. If anyone can help us out with the thread size and pitch for some popular turbos (holset, garrett, Mitsubishi, PTE, ect). Ill try and post some examples of the parts my dad makes tomorrow.

Hopefully if this catches on, we can make the fitting for you guys for much cheaper then some people are offering them online.

Thanks everyone at DSMtuners. :hellyeah:

Edit: by thread size on the turbos, i meant the cartridge oil feed and drain sizes. thanks again

-6AN and -8AN all I know about any fittings on dsm thought I throw in my .02 cents to help.Good luck on the business.:thumb:

Wow that is really cool and glad to hear about the buisness. I use 6an and 8an. I would be interested in rad hose an fitting. A lot of us use 8 and 6. Do you guys offer braided hose? I would be very interested in to see your stuff. I was about to buy some but I would like to help spread the word of your stuff if I like it LOL.

I'm not 100% sure on the correct ends, but here are some general guidelines.

Many people run -4an for their oil feeds. There are different lines depending on whether someone chooses to run the line from the oil filter housing or the head.

Oil drains are usually -10an if it's made to bolt to a bolt on adapter on the oil pan. Any larger and the fitting interferes with the bolt holes.

Brake lines are -3an are simple on DSMs.

Fuel lines are often -6an for stock replacement applications. Guys who have upgraded the whole system, including the fuel pump hangar, will run -8an.

Radiator hoses are often made with -16an. Lengths vary based on the setup, but all the weld on -16an fittings are aluminum.

Guys use -4an for the power steering, but these take different high pressure hose and fittings. Your dad would know that.

I've seen -3an and -4an lines for clutch lines.

That should cover most of the lines. Different setups use different angled fittings.

Thanks guys, thats the plan right now. Im looking for some sizes (most popular) and then I want to give some out and the people i give them out to can post up some reviews on the parts. I know they're very good quality thats why i want to give a couple out first so some of you can test them.

As of right now we wouldn't have any because my dad makes them once a customer orders what they need. So, i would need the sizes, then he would have to buy the material and make the parts. We can hopefully have the first bars out in a day after we get the material.

My brother is the "head of marketing" right now LOL because he majored in business, but I'm telling him to let me hand out a couple of these free ones as test samples in a way.

Thanks for that post!! Ill be sure to give you some free samples when we begin making them.:hellyeah:

PS. They may not be made for a while, I'm still doing most the research and this may take some time to get some parts made.

How soon are you hoping to get the material? Im upgrading my fuel setup in a couple of weeks. I would love to try these out for you. Do you guys also make braided hose?

Here's the list of what's on my car:

-Remote oil pressure sensor mount - 3an line with a -3an to 1/8npt male fitting one end and -3an to 1/8npt female fitting on the other.
-Tank-to-rail fuel feed line - Straight -6an fitting on both ends of 1 piece. One straight -6an on one end and one -6an 45° fitting on the other.
-Turbo feed from OFH - 4an on one end with a 3/8bpt to -4an 90° fitting. I think it's a M8 banjo fitting on the other, but I'm not 100% certain.
-Brake lines are the usual 2g SS lines. I forget the fittings exactly but a quick search should yeild results.

Potentially, I'll be needing -16an fittings and hoses for my Honda half radiator setup, -4an to ?? banjo bolt fitting for my new oil feed, and a -12an oil drain welded to my oil pan. May be running coolant lines too, and I think -6an would work well for that.

Plus, a lot of guys run -6, -8, and/or -10an lines for crank case vent breather hoses. I'm using -6an hose clamped to the stock barb fittings. Larger hoses require fittings to be welded on the cover. There's potential there for a low profile 90° -10an fitting for welding on valve covers.

Okay, thanks everyone i think we got it from here. If we need anymore help ill post back on this thread. So if these things get made ill be getting some sample ones out to the most helpful guys..

And we don't make the braided lines, just the fittings.

Knochgoon24 pretty much hit every one on the head. The only stuff after that is if there is anything else the person wants to customize themselves.

Kind of interested to see what pricing and options will be. I am a mechanic on the side and with the Armed Forces and I always have my eyes out for a good useful product. Please keep us updated.

Dont forget the 12mmx1.25 to -6an for us auto guys wishing to run our trans lines via an fittings.

Common sizes vary based on goals and the person. but basically -4 thru -10 are the common, with -16 comming in for cooling system setups. Depending on colors and variations available, I would like to test some out. Im trying a red and black setup, I like the jegs elite series fittings and used them on my -10 oil return to pan line. They look pimp IMHO. Would like Blue and Black, but no one makes em like that, so im SOL. Can u post pictures of samples of ones that have already been made so we can see a visual of previous work?

I would also like some an's for a fuel line from tank to rail as well as other things. Please keep us informed and maybe post in the vendor section when your up and running. I still ahve about another month or two left on build.

Is the stock OFH the 3/8 British pipe thread (bpt) i would need 1/4 tube to -4 AN to keep the restrictor fitting CORRECT? I know my 20g is 12 x 1.25 and was gonna make my own feed with a pal at the local hydraulic shop.

Use that middle port. you can use a 90* 3/8 bsp(some npt will work just use a fair amount of tephlon tape) to -4an at the ofh.

Yeah that deletes the stock restrictor, which I may as well use so 1/4 tube to -4 would be the ticket. Lookin around and silver solder might be the ticket...Custom!

Telfon tape is the wrong thread sealant for this application.

You should use gas/oil compatible tape, should be yellow in color, or an aerobic sealant, this is what I use. Used it on my entire auto trans cooler system on my jeep, no leaks.
