Need to replace my sunroof, looks like an OEM??

Hi, I am rebuiling a 90' Talon TSi AWD but before geting the paint job done I need to replace the sunroof. Since I bought that car, the electrical sunroof has never work. I bet the car was sold by the dealer with that sunroof installed. The sunroof is an electrical "spoiler style" made by ASC which glass size is 31 1/2" X 21". In the inside part of the globe box of my car it has an old sticker which said: "Sunroof made by ASC Sunroof of Santa Ana California...." It need to be replaced with a new one or at least for some other used sunroof of the same size since there is no place to cut a bigger hole on the roof to install a bigger one.

The questions are:
- Those this sunroof is an OEM of my DSM??
- If it is an OEM, those some one has one for sale?
- Any idea where i can find something that fit on it?
- What other options those i have? any ideas??

I just cant leave my sunroof there since it isn't working, the glass is scartched, water is geting inside, etc. I already get it inspected with a local sunroof shop but they said me that i need to replace the complete unit.

Any advice will be very apreciated.

Wow, I thought I was the only one to have an ASC electric sunroof. If it has not worked since you bought it, have you disconnected the switch and verify that you are getting 12v to it? It could be something as simple as a bad switch. Worst case, you have a bad motor. I have never really dove that far into the sunroof since my works but I've always had the thought in the back of my head "what if something breaks?" because I didn't know if it was a dealer option or aftermarket. If anyone else has some info, I'd appreciate too.

I Guess the mitsubishi dealer who sold your car and my car sent a couple of cars to ASC in California to get sunroof installed and later sold the car as an OEM Factory Sunroof.

I already get my sunroof inspected, the motor isn't working and the glass is not the original ASC glass. Seems like the last owner broke the glass and later he get it replaced with a normal (plane) glass so it is imposible to get the sunroof to work again.

The local sunroof dealer told me to look on the web for an other sunroof of the same size to replace my very damaged sunroof.

Because of its size (too big) it can't be replaced with a bigger one... there is no place in the roof to install a bigger one so I am in a really big trouble. Since i am rebuilding it, I really want to get the car in almost "show room conditions" but first i have to replace that uggly plan glass.

hope some one have an ASC sunroof as mine for sale. I already look on the web and on ebay and there is no info available

Another option is to just find another sunroof from any car that has the same dimension. It may not work the same and you'd have the non working switch, but your sunroof would work. I ended up repairing a aftermarket sunroof I had a few years back on another car.

IMHO, I would do what I could to find the parts you need to fix that. You can also call around to some specialty shops to see if they can repair your sunroof motor.

I had been sending emails to ASC speciality shops asking about parts for my sunroof or a complete new sunroof with the same dimensions, unfortunately without any positive answer!!

DSMBoostin15: can you post a couple of pics of your soonroof (inside and outside)?? just too se exactly how does it should be mine... Also please tell me the dimensions of the original glass may be with that info it will be easier to find parts or a complete unit..

Since I haven't found anything to replace my old ASC electric sunroof on my 1g Talon, I was thinking on swaping a 2g OEM sunroof on it Have some one already done this kind of swap? can someone post the dimensions of the OEM sunroof of a 2g please... I hope they are something similar to the actual size of the hole in my roof..

Dimentions were 38.75 with molding long. And 21 inches wide with molding..
