I am replacing my slave cylinder and the line to it from the damper due to damage. I was looking at the ss braided lines and noticed to two lenths available. 1st being from the master cylinder, eliminating the damper, and connecting to the slave. The 2nd I believe replaces the hose eliminates the damper and connects to the slave.
My engine is currently out so now would be the time to run the length of the fire wall, but I only want to do it if its worth it. So my question, is there a noticable difference between the two? Or should I just get the shorter lengthed line?

I am running the "longer" line, its a braided steel line from the master cylinder to the slave in the trans. It works fine, just as good if not better than stock. I bent the stock line when I was removing the trans and just replaced the whole thing, but its not needed.

The stock line is metal, so its not like there will be an improvement with pedal pressure, like there is with replacing rubber hoses for the brake lines. It will help that stock rubber line that runs to the trans. So either way, replace that rubber one. You are right, since you engine is out is it a good time to replace the whole line. The only thing that is a disadvantage is that you will now need to secure the braided line to something, I ran it along the brake line to the passenger then just ran it down to the trans.

To be completely honest, if you have the engine out and you are willing to do the work, I would reroute all those hard lines so they are lower in the engine bay and help with all the clutter. That involves getting new lines for brakes and clutch and bending then in a new route, but I am anal like that and love a clean bay. I am planning on replacing them with SS -3AN lines.

goodluck

That would be alot of time and money, he may not be willing to spend or do.
But definatly do the full length elimination kit, the huge increase in clutch pressure will be worth it. Plus your eliminating a possible failure point.

I think i'm going to do the full length. The engine is out so and as you said, it will eliminate possible failure down the road. Do you happen to know the fitting size for where it taps in to master cylinder and also the slave? I searched but only saw a thread with a couple people arguing about it. I saw the kit from (sbr) but there is local custom hose shop, that I'd like to see their price if they can make it.
Would this be correct?
The slave cylinder fitting should be a M10x1.00 thread and the master cylinder should be a M10x1.25. The ID of the line should be 3/16" ID in which 6 ft of -4AN teflon lined SS line will suffice. (although -3AN is about 3/16")

I use a 180* on the slave cylinder and a 90* on the master cylinder. Both steel fittings.
