all 2g windshield the same?even spyder?

would all windshield from any 2g fit on a 2g spyder? what else is different from a spyder other than the roof?

If you are concerned with the windshield, call a local windshield shop. Tell them that you are looking to if the windshields are the same. They will be able to see if part numbers match up. I would say that they are in fact basically the same, but I can't speak with 100% assurance. Give a shop a call, they will let you know for sure.

I think they are the same. I have a window and a door from a talon in mine.

Like razrman said, check part numbers. As for what Russman said, it's not really relevant to the question but all the 2G doors are the same.

When I ordered a windshield replacement for my GS daily driver this past summer, the glass shop wanted to know the exact trim spec (RS, GS, GST, GSX, Spyder)....and for a glass shop to ask such a detailed question about a DSM, I'm sure they're aware of differences that we are not.

No, the coupe and Spyder windshields are not the same part number.

Different part number yes however they both will fit.. I had my windshield smashed in my spyder and the local shop had a coupe windshield and it fit. The only thing different was the little black spot where the rear view goes.. To answer your question OP, Yes theyre practically the same. A coupe WS will fit in a spyder or vise versa.

i wish i knew that last year i paid almost 400 dollars for my gs spyder shield the glass guy said it is one of the most expensive ones out there

They are the same, only the incline the spyder sits on is a little less than a hardtop... Part numbers will not match, but a GSx windshield will fit in the spyder... The bubble of the glass will also differ, but nothing noticible. I had this done in my 96 and used a 96 gsx windsheild.

But i recently smashed my windshield, long story
Im about to buy a 97-98 talon and i want to know if this windshield will fit my 96 spyder?
The 2g coupes have a different part # and price than the Spyder windshield..
Any thoughts??will it fit or is it too small/big/narrow idk what do you guys think

Like it's mentioned, the glass shop will ask what trim and body style. When I had the glass replaced on my old Spyder, they even needed to know if it was turbo or not. My guess is that on the Spyders, the glass could potentially be a little stronger due to the glass possibly acting as part of the structural integrity unlike the hard top.

I'll likely go through the same thing when I have the glass on my current spyder replaced.

As I said in post #7, the windshields are the same. Im not sure exactly what is different between the two trims but they bot fit in each other. I had my spyder windshield replaced with a coupe one and I never noticed the difference. Turbo, NT, spyder, hardtop, it doesnt matter.
