What cars came with a 4g64 and is the crank 6 bolt or 7bolt.
Has any one done a stroker 4g64, I have seen 2.6l stroker kits out there.
 
I know the 2g Eclipse Spyders had the 4g64, and the 94-98 Galants.

There was also one found in the 3G Eclipse. They came in a couple different varieties. The one in the 3G Eclipse is reversed like and EVO motor and an EVO head and tranny can actually bolt up to it. The one found in the Galant and 2G Eclipse Spyders have the same orientation as our motors and will bolt up to our head and tranny with no problems. The only real difference between a 4G64 and 63 is on the 64 they raised the deck by 6mm to accommodate the extra 12mm of stroke and added 1.5mm of bore to make a 2.4L.

Here is the 4G64 I bought and tore down on Saturday, you can see it looks nearly the same as a 4G63 block.

the 4g64 is a 7 bolt crank and the g4cs is the 6 bolt thats is pretty hard to find from what I have heard. Plus if you search this topic you will find endless amount of info on the 2.4 block mated to the 2.0 head.

I've never seen one, but I'm sure there was a 6 bolt varient, as the 4G64 was being produced at a time before 7 bolt motors were being made.

One of my friends is doing the 4G64 2.6L stroker with his Evo plus an FP Black, it should move right along.
 
You can use the crank, but they aren't 4g64s. They are something else, I can't remember the code, it's like G64B or something.

Anyways yeah, g4cs=6 bolt, 4g64=7 bolt. The G4CS is very hard to find.
 
The narrow block is the block style that fits the 63 tranny. I am currently running a 64 with 63 head and i love it. Pretty much all bolt on parts are the same considering both are 7 bolt.

Galant 4g64 7 bolt from 94-98 That will fit in DSM's. ( will not have front mount on block for 1g's)
They also have thrust bearings. (exclude spyder 4g64 I hear they acutally hold thrust washers I've never seen this)

Galant 7 gen 4g64

Have extra oil drain back holes for the heads that match up with an Evo 4-9 head or it's original SOHC head.

You can put a DSM head on one but you will reverse the intake an exhaust orientation in the bay similar to a 4b11. (bolt pattern won't match if you try to correct this orientation turning the dsm head around)
