It is stock with 150K. AWD. Needed a new cat, turbo, tune-up and fluids when I bought it. Body is in great shape and so is interior. Paid $900.

My question would be the tranny.. Has it been rebuilt if not plan on getting it.

Other than that slap a 16G, redo the exhaust, timing belt, check the compression and go from there.

Check the compression first.

The 2nd gear grinds like usual. I am planning on getting the motor rebuilt. What kind of range do you guys think it will be in? I only want to be in the mid to low 12s so I don't think I need forged stuff but otherwise, how much and what should I do?

Thanks

i think u got a real good deal. i just my tsi awd and i paid 2900. it had less miles, but not by that much, also there is nothin wrong with it, well nothing that i know of YET.

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I wonder if there are any local shops so I can just have my stock engine rebuilt and not worry about installing the beast when it gets here...
