I bought my car with (seemingly custom) downpipe/exhaust already on it about a month ago.

I just got around to getting an oil change this weekend, and my downpipe is in the way of getting the oil filter off.

UGH! ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER WITH THIS CAR!

Anyways... a buddy of mine suggested an oil filter relocation kit. So far, the only one I can find is from GReddy, and it's about $300... not sure I want to resort to that quite yet.

Does anybody have a better alternative to that? I searched, and found a few links people were suggesting in the past, but they were all dead by now.

I also read about using an Evo oil filter, because it's smaller? Can anybody shed some light on the situation?

I had my oil changed, and because they couldn't replace the filter at the time, I used cheap oil... so I'd like to get that filter/oil off and changed ASAP...

### HALP ME? :D

(Weird... it censored P L Z.... )

I can get the oil filter unscrewed, but it won't pull off the housing enough to come out/off... it just hits the downpipe.

That relocation kit would work... I suppose? I didn't realize that oil filter housings were universal? If all the fittings fit, then yeah, I suppose that would work.

And dsmspoolin, that would actually be optimal, I would think. I'd have to check again and make sure there aren't any other pipes that would get in the way, but that might be my best bet otherwise.

I plan to go the FFF bracket route if the oil filter and downpipe don't get along when I do the first oil change. Looks like it should fit, but I also want to get a different downpipe some time down the road too.

I'm selling my oil filter relocation with 4 oil filters. This is an oil filter relocation that uses v8 oil filter which is much larger and helps maintain the oil better.

PM me if you're interested. You're not gonna pay $300.

The Mighty Max OFH is the FFFH just FYI. You can just unbolt the downpipe and swing it out of the way. That's what I used to need to do. The 1g filter is another viable option as well; short and fat.

Oil cooling is over rated anyway. The difference between air cooled and water "cooled" isn't too much. Water cooled OFH isn't cooling the oil it's more for start up to get the oil to a good operating temperature.
