I'm kind of confused about what your asking here, so let me get this straight... The title of this thread is "Boost Leak" but your talking about cleaning out your IC piping and SMIC and wondering if thats what fixed your boost creep? So which is it, boost leak or boost creep?

If you were having boost creep problems then the only thing that can fix it is doing something on the exhaust side of the turbo. Porting the hotside, modifying the wga, running an external wastegate, putting on a more restrictive exhaust, etc. etc. are a few fixes for boost creep. So if your asking if by cleaning out your SMIC and UICP you fixed your boost creep then I'd say NO.

If your asking if by cleaning your UICP and SMIC fixed your boost leak then its very possible. You might have had a boost leak coming from one of the clamps on the intercooler or the piping and since you had to remove all those clamps/couplers and re-tighten everything back down you could have eliminated where it was leaking from by accident.

i had the boost leak before and i still had mad boost creep. But since cleaning the smic and ic piping i dont have either anymore... its a combination of the 2 that were fixed the same time... the only reason i would have thought about cleaning it was from the Tech upgrade page....

so the cleaning of the smic has nothing to do with the boost creep issue? Is boost creep always there or is it like a phantom thing where it comes and goes. Ive been driving it for 5 days since i fixed it and its never creeped on me since. sorry about not being clear the first time.
