ALL CAM IDENTIFICATION QUESTIONS MERGED HERE.

Cams are not easy to identify for obvious reasons...but if you think it's worth posting pics along with measurements and specs of the cams you're using, give it a shot.

I have these cams, they came in a head I bought. The guy said they were aftermarket and he did not know what kind... does anyone reconize these markings? Thank you very much for any help you can give, I want to sell them but I do not know what they are.

The only cams I've seen with a "B" on them were made by Blox Racing. They're more common with the Honda crowd, but they do make a 4G63T cam. As the above posted said, I'd at least rotate them to see if you can get a number off of them.

Here's a link to their website showing a 264 or 272 variation:

Let us know what you find,

Andy

Instead of removing them entirely, you may want to just rotate them if you can and see if any numbers show up.

I'd be interested to know what you find since Blox cams on a DSM are pretty uncommon.

Good luck!

Andy

Damn... I pulled the intake cam and could not find any identifying markings that had significance to me. The only thing I could find was a number on the CAS end of the cam :202120137. I have searched this number on google and yahoo and there is nothing DSM related. Oh well, I guess I am going to list them on eGay as "I dunno what they are but they are aftermarket cams" with the 6 bolt head. I am getting ready to buy cams and was wondering what these are... I think I am going with FP2's, but the $316 price for brand new Brian Crowers is making me think... oh well off topic. Mabey someone will recognize these cams here....

andymoraitis, me coming from the Honda scene, the first thing I thought of when I saw these was Blox, but until you told me, I never knew they made anything other then Honda cams. There DSM cams are cheap, have you heard anyone running them and having luck? How do your Comp 200's idle? My wife and I are having a baby and need a cam that idles good... How do the 200's pull above 6000, I see you have a stroker, so I dont know how high you spin it... but I really want somthing that pulls hard to the redline like VTaK:) These stockers die a lil after 6000

Comps 200's idle like stock with a bit of lope depending on the idle. Mine is at 700 and I can hear them sometimes, but at 900 you won't even know they're there. I spin my motor to 6500, but these cams will pull all the way to 7400. There's just no reason for me to go that high with a small turbo that won't hold more than 20-22 psi 6500 anyway.

As far as selling them, put them up as Blox DSM cams of unknown origin. They could be 264's or 272's and they're really not cheap at close to 300.00 each. They're actually more expensive than my Comps.

This is strange, I have the same exact looking cams in my car but the say J instead of B (exact same spot, lettering, and had those little dots next to it) Anyone know anything about this?

Okay... I am wondering which cams I should go with for my 95 gsx? I plan on driving the car every now and then just to go out and play because I have another daily. I have all my parts here chillin and once the motor is pulled and rebuilt my mod list will consist of:

Greddy 24Row FMIC
Greddy type RS bov
Ported head
Crower valve springs and retainers
Bored & Honed block (20 over) with wiseco pistons
Eagle rods
TD06H 20G turbo
SBR tubular turbo manifold
Tial 38mm wastegate
680cc injectors
Magnecore 8.5mm plug wires
Fidanza adjustable cam gears
ACT 2600
ACT lightened flywheel
Injen cai
Greddy upper & lower IC piping
SBr balance shaft removal kit
SBR revised lifters
Walbro 255
-There is other stuff but I figured these would be the main things you would need to know.

I was thinking about the hks 264/272 but I dont know. Can someone help me out :)

Well with the 20g You could use the 272's they'd help out really nice up top. Check out DKS 272's. Also you could take a look at the line of FP cams, I have FP2x's with stock valvetrain and they helped alot even on my 14b.

How would 264/272 and 272/272 compare. I'm a noob @ cam selection LoL

272/272 has always been the prefored choice for major setup, look at evil eagle I believe he used them to get to his destination of a 9 secon daily driver. 264/272 are more or less used for people who want a more streetable cam and are using smaller turbo's, i.e 16g etc that kind of give up top unlike 50 trims, 20g's.

If you do get 280's and want to rev high, you should think about upgrading atleast your valve springs and retainers. Anything over 8k I'd be worried about with those cams.

he already has some springs and retainers..^^^^^^^parts list above...I have BC 272s and in the process of installing them. but from what I read they are great. my friend Raph is currently running it on his 2g GS T and he likes it. plus since you bored your block i am assuming you installed a stroker kit so realistically you do not want to rev higher than 8-8.5k rpms. also rewire your fuel pump and hopefully you have an AFPR and datalogger.

Since your gonna run a 20g then 272's would be great but if you ever plan on upgrading your turbo to something bigger I'd think about 280's since you already have the spring and retainers. The 20g might run out of air past redline though.

Comp cams 101100 or 101200...good cams also. I'm going with 101100's myself within the next few weeks.

680's should rich your 400 hp goal, but i think they are getting close to their max
