alright well im doing a rebuild for my 95 tsi. im looking to give it a little more power and speed. not a whole lot but some where it will be quicker when nessary. so my main quetion is what 16g turbos are nice? im looking to spend maybe around the 300-400 dollor range. hopefully somewhere in the 3s but does anyone kno of any good turbos for that price range?

Pick up a good used EVO316G. And since your in Minnesota, if it's available, I would recommend converting to be able to run E85. You will be able to max that turbo out with the stock sidemount. Keep the stealthy look while having a car that puts down a respectable amount of power. Factor into though that on top of the turbo cost you will need an install kit and to make/buy a new lower intercooler pipe. Please fill out your car's profile more complete so we can see what mods you already have to help you along.

I actually am doing what he just advised you to do.. I picked up a evo 3 big 16g for 250.00 and a dejon jd pipe 110.00 for my short route slwboi FMI. I am putting on my slowboi cast iron manifold with 38mm tail wastegate and gonna get tuned by phoung a Wingz e85. are 750cc injectors good or too small? :aha:

60.00-80.00 on steel braided oil lines

so it was 420.00 around your price range. :thumb:

didnt mean to thred jack. :ohdamn:

doing this while I wait on my bigger turbo set up. :sneaky:

too bad your far I found another evo 3 big 16g for 250.00..

If you goal is 360ish whp down to about 320ish whp, get the small 16g. Less expensive than all the other 16g turbos, due to demand. Yet MUCH more efficient than all the other 16g turbos in that power range.

sorry. my car is basically going to be stock. other than Evo VIII Pistons & Rods, turboback exhaust, and then hopefully 16g turbo. ill upgrade the injectors and fuel pump also. and i believe ill need a frount mount inner cooler wont i?

Not sure if this matters, but I ran RC750's at 58psi (nearly 900cc's worth of fuel) in my SRT-4 w/ a 2.4L motor and was running out of fuel with 100% e85 at about 21 ~ 24psi from a stock turbo, so something a lil bigger would probably be better.

Hmm :hmm: sounds like a good idea.

Where is this Big 16g? I am interested :D

I will be selling my perfectly fine evo3 16g for $200 but that won't be till february.
It has 3 of 4 threads stripped where the bolts hold the turbo to mani but it can be re-threaded.
If interested send me a pm.

There no such thing!!!
U have Big 16G, Evo 3 16G, Evo 1-2 Small 16G etc..... Check the parts numbers to know which one you have.

The evo1 and evo2 had the big 16g. The evo3 had the famous evo3 16g. The small 16g wheel came out AFTER they evo1/2 16g was discontinued. It has more modern aero thech and the compressor map/results show this.
