So i blew the headgasket on my car and have it apart, so while its apart im lookin to get some cams. my profile is mostly updated, i have arp headstuds that are going in too. what is a good cam to get?? I plan on eventually making around 400hp someday.. and since i cant post in the classifieds i will post it here. I have a ACT 2600 clutch that i am trying to trade for some cams. The pressure plate is brand new in the box. I would suggest getting a new disk but thats for you to decide. I have pictures on my phone so pm me and i can send you them..
thanks

You = FAIL!!! Don't post crap like this in the general forums. That is a terrible trade anyways. Just by a set of BC cams, you seem like a cheap ass, so you won't wanna shell out for a good set.
As far as cams to get, go with some FP2's, Kelford 272's, HKS 272's, GSC 1's, ect. A set of 272's will work well for you.

The Delta cam regrinds are supposed to be pretty good too, and aren't very expensive as far as cams go. Do a search for them.

I have used the delta regrinds, I live about 15 minutes away from their shop, but I wouldn't use them again. They cause the idle to be bad, reason being that the vac is pretty low like 7-8in/hg. That makes the brakes suck when out of gear. I would suggest just getting a good set of cams that have the R&D to back up the design. Cheap is something that shouldn't apply to cams.

I just installed the delta 264/272 setup in my 92 talon and they idle very smooth. When I first ran it it , there was a definite lope at 800 or so rpm. I adjusted the throttlebody screw and the idle went to 900+ and the lope is all but gone. I have 11 to 12 in. vacuum . I had 16 in. with the stock 1g cams. The car now runs out of gas 1500 rpm sooner at 2 lbs less boost. It is definately flowing more air. Tres...

If you are doing something for better performance it is better you do it right from first than you will have to double spend so if you going to buy cams then buy Brian Crower Stage 3 with valve springs and retainers or buy the 101200 Comp Cams. These are more or less equivalent to HKS 272s and are alot cheaper. You can't always cheap out on performance and the key to your car performing well is always in the tuning afterward. I would also tell you to stay far away from most regrinds.

BC cams suck. There is no way that you can compare them to Comp Cams. I run Comps and I love them, and the quality is a million times better then bc cams. Please don't suggest bc cams to anyone, they are garbage....but the cams aren't even close to being as trashy as BC's valve springs. You are better off just using stock valve springs then BC's shit they sell. All BC products suck ass that they make. Just buy quality cams and not cheap crap.

PS, sorry to flame at you sketzshane, it's nothing personal, I just HATE BC products with a passion. You did make some good points in your post too, just not the BC stuff.

I would like to know why you think bc cams are so bad? You had no proof in that and im not trying to hate on you im just wondering. I have heard and seen some test that show that they perform well but nothing amazing like kelford cams have.

what cams did you order from Delta? just don't like having guys running around with their panties all wadded up, the 272's draw enough vacuum to run the brakes. I will post the results from the 272's I just put in the 92

FP cams ftw, don't mess with other cams if your not going to upgrade your valvetrain. BC cams are very good cams so don't say things when you have no idea what your talking about. The FP cams seem to perform very well and they are a drop in and go like HKS. And the FP cams are cheap since you seem cheap and everyone else seems to think so.

" The FP cams seem to perform very well "

Seem? any numbers? I wouldn't blow a paycheck on a product that "seems" ok

BC cams will work, but not as well as others.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/353114-just-ordered-my-bc-272-272-cam-friday.html#post152029755
