fried fusebox

So as i was driving home from work i noticed a burnt plastic smell, i popped my hood and wah la. My alternator fuse was melting. Today I took it out and now theres a huge gaping hole from where the fuse used to be. So now my question is do i have to get a whole new fuse box? and what would cause this to happen, i dont want to change out the whole box just for this to happen again.

wow that sucks bad, had you done anything to the fuse or the alternator lately? hey gives you a chance to buy a new shiney lol

Take out the batt an the alternator and have them tested asap before u think of changing ## fuze box
