My 20g Came today and I have a question for you guys. This is the td06 20g correct? could i upgrade the td06h turbine wheel, or do i need a different hotside? since all the 20g threads are older and all the photobucket pictures are gone, i cannot compare. anyone have pictures of the td06, and tdo6h turbine housings?

reason why i ask is because i am finally dipping into modding my car (dont worry, all supporting mods will be on, by the time this goes on) and i am trying to educate myself on this turbo. the turbo also needs a new compressor wheel, and turbine wheel. which i will be ordering form forced performance

All 20G's are considered "TD06" turbos because you cannot buy a 20G in a TD05H cover unless it is custom-built. Sure they're out there, but they never came from Mitsu that way.

Yours has a 20* clipped TD05H turbine. Back in the day, this type of aggressive clipping was the popular mod done to Buschur Racing 20G's.

You can change hotsides or have your hotside modded to fit a larger turbine. Keep in mind a TD06H turbine upgrade alone is going to cost you $400+ by the time the job is done (turbine / machinework / parts kit), and will add 300-400rpms of lag to the turbo. It will also take away the "hit" that makes a TD05H 20G so fun.

All the turbine housings look the same from the outside- there's no way to tell what's what unless you actually measure the wheel....so photos are useless.

If you're not pushing this turbo over 25psi, the TD06H turbine may hurt you more than it will help you.

Don't buy wheels from FP. There are far cheaper parts suppliers out there.
