I have a 92 TSI. I started the car this morning and let it idle for a few mins. When I backed out of the driveway and started to take off, I lost all electrical power. I came back in less than a second and then 2-3 seconds later it did it again. So here I am, late for work, starting at my car trying to figure out what is going on. My first thought is a loose wire as the car ran fine while it was sitting. I pulled and poked at all the wiring in reach under the hood. I checked the main ground and it looks fine. It would seem it has to be a wire somewhere, but it is really rhythmic when it happens. Now that the car is back in the driveway, it is running fine again. The car did this once before, only for a second and then it was fine. At that time, I thought it just stalled, so I started it up and drove off and it was fine for a week. I'm at a loss here. I don't know these cars electrically. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know it is loosing all electrical power because the radio lost all memory, and the seatbelt wouldn't move when I opened the door.

I drove to work and it was perfectly fine. Imagine that...
