I recently bought someone's abandoned project. It's a '91 talon tsi awd turbo blah blah...The car came with the original motor w/ ~140k miles on it as well as a 93 short block with ~1k miles on a rebuild. Neither motor is in the car so I would like to use the 93 block with the original head(I will have it rebuilt). Will this block bolt right in? sorry if this has been answered but I searched and couldn't find an answer.

Oh and will the clutch from the 6 bolt work on a 7 bolt? Thanks
 
^^^Quit bashing 7 bolts. I'm tired of all the "6 bolts are god" bull$hit in every thread. Yes as long as its a 1g 7 bolt it will fit right into the '91. And all turbo clutches will fit on all the motors. The only difference is the flywheel.

dont know were you got off on that, but its true why do you think people do 6 bolt swaps, to avoid CW and stronger internals, but thats on stock block.
 
i was under the impression that the later motors had a propensity for crank walk at higher mileages, as well as being weaker! Not that itll matter on a mostly stock car, just sayin'. Im sure thats why people are swinging from the cohones of the 6 bolts.
 
I currently own a 90 lazer with a 7 bolt swap. Did it in my own driveway. I replaced the rods with H beam rods to strengthen it. Crankwalk is in the machining and build. You will want prothane mounts ### the front mount can no longer be used. You will only have the driver, rear, and tranny mount. And keep the 1g ecu. You will have to hardwire and change a couple plugs to match but if the head is still 1g keep the ecu 1g.
