Well the eclipse is up on stands while I am repairing a few issues she had. Long story short I have 3 motors, 1 from a 90 with an external oil cooler and 2 91+. And my water pipe has been leaking really bad on my one good motor.

So I pull the turbo off and disconnect the water pipe and remove it and I notice that the water pipe is dented at the end where the O ring is and i'm 100% sure thats why it was leaking, so I grab a water pipe off one of my other 2 blocks without even thinking throw on a new seal and put everything together.

As I finish up I'm looking around my turbo to double check its all hooked up and I notice the line coming from my (I think) oil filter housing isn't connected so I'm looking on my water pipe for the nipple... and there isn't one there.. I went through all that work and I accidentally used the water pipe from my 90 motor with no nipple for that line. My question is can I just plug that line and not have coolant flow through it? Will it hurt anything?

I really don't wanna pull the pipe off and do that all over again..

Thanks,

technically you can just plug it, not much difference between that and a mighty max filter housing (being non cooled) however.... Depending on your climate it may not be a good idea...

Well in SD we do have some pretty hot days but also have extremely cold days to.. I'm assuming the hot would be the main issue?

Maybe you could drill and tap a NPT nipple into it?

Swap the OFH to the 90 style and setup an air cooled oil cooler. They're more reliable anyways.

Hmm this did cross my mind. I'll look into it, how difficult a swap is it? Basically just unbolt my current OFH and bolt that one up?

Well I looked the swap up, it sounds time consuming but not overly difficult. I'm thinking I may go that route.
