coil packs in wrong order?

Was doing some maintenence on the gf's 99 gsx. I pulled off the spark plug cover and found this

we bought the car used so we dont know the history on it. The head looks a little different than other 2g heads as well. Are the coil packs switched too? I dont think the plug wires are supposed to run that way. Car runs strong. no CEL or misfires. Let me know guys

So if there isn't a problem then what exactly are you trying to ask ?
It's weird how the spark plug cables don't match either of the diagrams you posted and runs good. I can understand if it was a 6 bolt swap then the wiring would have to be re-routed but i doubt that's a 6 bolt nor the diagram for running the cables on a 6 bolt.
Try putting the cables to the correct diagram as the 2g's came from factory and see what happens.

Im confused why the wires are crossed and yet the car runs good.

The coilpacks can be switched left to right. Im thinking if the coil pack on the right was mistakenly put on the left, then my head matches the diagram on the right.

just checked the ecu. It has the right part number (for 99 eclipse) Did notice that the previous owner cut into some of the ecu wiring and reconnected the wires using butt connectors.
