Tranny swap questions

A buddy of mine just picked up a '93 gsx MT but can't drive a MT due to injuries. He offered me to swap my AT part for part (the MT has only 45k miles) . Now I want to find out:

1. Will the 1g trans fit in my 2g?
2. Is there anything else I'm gonna need? (Trans computer, differentials, ect.)
3. How difficult is the swap? We are both pretty handy with cars and would like to avoid paying a shop to do it if it's a pretty basic swap.
4. Are there any issues that I'm bound to run into? (parts not fitting right, modifications needed?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I haven't attempted a trans swap. I just want to make sure this isn't going to be a major headache and no issues will occur before we go about doing it.

Don't know too much about the mechanical part of your questions, but since 1g and 2g interiors are way different...are you going to have any problems getting center consols, 1g auto shifter stuff, prob ned different shifter cables for the car that will be manual...just throwing some of that stuff out there inacse you didnt think of it. To me that would be the most of my headaches. i would rather pull an engine and drop a new one in then have to worry about all the like that, unless you can get a donor car to get that stuff from.

1g trans will not fit in a 2g end of story...1g motor mounts are on the engine block for the front and rear, 2g is on the transmission there will be nowhere to put the engine mounts in your car. May be able to rig up your auto in his 1g though very impractical. Just for information though, if it werent for it being impossible to mount, the rear differential would have to be swapped due to different ratios, as well as a wiring nightmare for the TCU since his would not have any provisions in the harness for one. Also assuming he has a 7 bolt, if its been swapped to 6bolt for any reason you woud have even more issues.

Thanks guys for your help. One thing I didn't even think about looking at was the position of the mounts.
