My interior lights fuse keeps blowing. My car is acting wierd since then. Everytime I start my car its like my car has to relearn everything, my cel goes away, i have to enter my radio code, my dash lights and dome lights are out. My idle has to relearning itself so everytime I drive my idle is at 1500 for 20 miles and then it drops to 800. Any ideas?

I installed boost gauge into the center console recently, I also did custom leds for under dash lights instead of the yellow bulb replacement. But they light up fine when i put the fuse in there, just after acouple starts the fuse blows.

Check the wires to make sure there not shorting out. EX. Exposed wires, Ground wire not connected....
By the way, you car title says Talon TSI, when your car is An Eclipse GS-T or GSX, one of the two.

sound like wut happend to my car an i have burnt wires somewhere in my harness that keeps my headlights an windows an door locks from working an finding that prob sucks majorly but best way is to use a multi-meter an find which wires are grounding an follow them. hope this help bud

BowTie, we believe in proper grammar and spelling on this forum. Adding the "d" at the end of "and" doesn't take that much more effort. Be sure to proof read your posts as well.

Now for the OP, I'd bet a great deal of money that the cause of your troubles is the wiring you just did. Go through each and every connection. If you crimped them, make sure the crimps are solid. Pull on the wires. If the crimp can't hold when you yank on the wires, then you did it improperly. If you soldered the connection, did you shrink wrap your connections? Electrical tape won't cut it. If you didn't, you can either redo the connection or look at your local marine parts store (the auto parts store might have it) for something called liquid electrical tape. Good luck.

Fuses blow due to something in the circuit drawing too much current. If a device hasn't failed then you have a short to ground somewhere that is blowing the fuse and possibly draining the battery momentarily (especially if it's weak), causing everything to reset. Your car runs like crap afterwards because the ECU also loses power and has to "relearn" the correct settings.

It's also possible that you have too small of a fuse in a circuit that normally pulls more current than the fuse is rated for. But don't just start throwing bigger fuses at it; you'll risk more damage or even starting a fire. Figure out what the normal current draw should be and fuse the circuit properly.

It's also worth noting that if your interior lights seem to be causing it (like when you open or close the door), check the areas around the switches in the door...they are notorious for wearing out and causing shorts and other electrical problems.

I agree with kahl23 and will toss a few bucks in with that money he's betting :).... Check your work. The dash dimmer circuit is tied in with the interior lighting, so I would start with those under-dash LED's you wired up, and then check the wiring for the boost guage back-light (which is also normally tapped off the interior lighting/dimmer circuit).

This is my friends account, I lost my account information. I do have a 97 gsx. I like your spoiler too.
