o2 dump question

I just got an o2 dump from a trade,if I put it on will my car knock?Some local guy told me if I had an non eprom ecu my car wouln't knock but if I had an eprom ecu it would,I don't have a logger at the moment also

The local guy doesnt know what the hell he's talking about. All the dump does is vent the exhaust coming out of the wastegate when it opens. And this is only under high boost. It wont make your car knock.

Are you talking about an o2 housing internal wasegate atmospheric dump? If so then No. I ha nothing to do with knock. This piece goes between your turbine outlet and your downpipe. So don't worry about the knock thing. I would be more worried about it: Being able to fit properly, the headache and bloddy knuckles that you'll get when you try to remove it and It dumping right on your cross member instead of succesfully making its way out to the atmosphere. This is assuming that you have a 1g. 2Gs are different. Do you have a, aftermarket turbo back exhaust system? (down pipe, cat or test pipe, cat-back, muffler). If no, then get those first so that you can do everything at once.
