my engine has arp main studs. its a 6-bolt with stock oil pickup. i was wondering what you guys did about the oil pick up tube. normally it mounts to one of the old main bolts but the arp stud is bigger in diameter and the nut is taller so it cant drop down as far as it needs to. can i cut that extra bracket off and only bolt it to the oil pump? any ideas would be great.

When I rebuilt mine, I cut off that bracket. But Ive seen people who also just drilled out the hole bigger on the bracket to sit over the ARP main stud...

It is, I think that bracket is there, incase people crush the oil pan (By jacking up on it). Which might push on the pickup tube if that bracket wasn't there...

ill probably just cut it off too because the mains are all torqued down already. they were torqued by the builder too so im not sure exactly how tight they are and i just want to leave the mains alone.

Cyclone and I opted to cut the bracket off. We would have just drilled the bracket out if we hadn't had the mains torqued all ready. The pickup seems like it will be fine without the bracket, its pretty sturdy. The car is on the road now, but I just got the pictures up for the visual update.
