Well since I bought the car last month found I have found so many unhooked wires, cables and things hooked up completly wrong. Two things I'm not sure of if they are hooked up right is my HKS SSQ bov and my Manual Boost controller. I'd appreciate if somebody could tell me if everything seems to be set up ok.

First the BOV.
Seems kind of weird that it's hooked up the way it is but who knows.
The red line is the trail the hose that comes out of the bov follows:

As you can see it ends at a T connect, the yellow line that breaks off goes to a small black box I'm not sure what it is. The other hose that breaks off I'm not sure.

Next the MBC
Okay, the hose that comes out of the J-pipe (Yellow) goes to the Boost controller, then another hose goes from the BC to the wastegate (Red). The reason I feel this is hooked up wrong is I do not see how it would regulate boost with the way it's set up:

From the searches I found this seems like it's setup okay but it's best to be certain.

Sorry if these questions seem stupid, but then again that's why I posted in this section.

Ok, the BOV is tapped into a boost/vacuum source like it's supposed to be. I'm not sure if that's the correct spot for a 1g though.

It sounds like your MBC is correctly hooked up though. Inside the MBC is a ball and spring. The spring presses the ball against port, keeping it from opening until the pressure is high enough to move the ball against the spring. When that happens, pressurized air rushes in an opens your wastegate.

it looks like your bov is Ted on the vacum line for your fpr. there arn't suposted to be any T's in the line for your bov, find maybe an open nipple on your intake manifold and hook it up there.

like everyone else said though, is that your mbc seems fine.

Take the vacuum line off the T in the fpr lines and run it straight to the inlet on the intake manifold.
And, what's up with the rusted to death exh mani and j-pipe ???

Thank you. Yea the previous owner had it vented with no maf-t setup. I purchased the recirq fitting for the SSQ last week. One more question I have is what does this hose run to and is it necessary:

Reason I ask is the Injen Intake I purchased came without the dump tube option and I was wondering if I could use the hole I circled to recirc the bov back into.

I have a Dejon j-pipe I just purchased I just have not installed yet. And as for the exhaust mani I know the thing looks horrible. I'm waiting until I upgrade the turbo & go to extrnl WGT before I buy a new ex mani.

There should be a nipple for the bov above runner 2. You can see it clearly in this picture.

What MBC (or type) do you have? Where on the MBC does each line go? The one from the J pipe should go to the bottom and the one to the wastegate should go to the side.

Please recirculate your bov, get a cover for your positive battery terminal (so you don't ground out your strut tower bar), and get timing belt/cam gear covers!

And if you need any help, let me know as I'm not too far from you.

It goes to your charcoal canister (under your battery). It's used for emissions purposes. I would keep it hooked up if you still have to pass emissions.

Thanks man. I'll order the covers tonight also. So after I get it inspected I can temporarily recirq the bov into that track until I get my MAF-T setup ?

Man with the condition that motor looks in i would say do all your maintenance ASAP !!! Then worry about mods and finishing her up.

I would wait to install your new intake pipe until you get the MAF-T setup. Then use the stock recirculation hole in the snorkel for the bov.

What do you mean by this ? After I install the new intake I will no longer have the stock snorkel hole correct ? I'm planning on venting the bov after I get the maft setup anyway.

It's a 6-bolt so it's old. Most of the maintenance has been done. Thanks though LOL.

Does this mean that I need to do all of my maintenance? Dirty doesn't mean out of maintenance!

Didn't say that :p. From the looks of the condition of how the motor is ( vented bov, plugged intake pipe, altered vac lines, etc. I know it's nothing bad but i like to play things safe and wouldn't take my chances with any used motor. My motor is dirty as well and i have done my maintenance already, so i'm not guiding myself by if it is dirty or not. :thumb:

That was shortly after I got the car, the orignal owner abused the hell out of it, here is an example

Anybody have a suggestion for the question I asked about Recirq for the bov ? If you missed here is the rundown: I bought a injen intake without a snorkle hole for a tube to recirq into, I have two options-

1.Keep the stock intake tubing and recirq the bov with the recirq fitting I bought

or

2. Get my car inspected, undue the tube coming from the charcoal canister and recirq the bov back in through that

I'm switching to a blow-through MAF-T setup soon, but what should I do for now ???

Thanks for the help so far everyone !

Choice 1. This way everything is set up the way it should be, and you're not trying to feed a big recirc tube into the tiny charcoal canister hole.

Then, when you get the MAF-T setup and put on the new intake pipe, everything will still be setup the way it should be. BOV will be vented and the charcoal canister will be in the proper hole.

Sorry to dig my old thread up but I found out and have done a few things.

I moved my bov vacuum line from where it was to the line that comes from the little nipple on the intake mani. Only thing with that is my boost gauge is also tapped into that line. I know its bad to have the bov T'ed but could I get away with it just being T'ed with the boost gauge ?

The line goes like this:

You could get away with it but it won't be as accurate. I suggest you run the boost gauge off the FPR line that runs from the solenoid to the intake manifold.
T the fitting into this line and call it a day.
