Hey guys, has anyone tried this? I never seen it before and it just showed up on ebay so i did a little research. Looks like a maft thing. It has knock controll , and adjusts that airflow and o2 readings , and converts GM maf to dsm mas! Shows it in the example.

And its chheaper!

Mabye you have seen it before and Im a noob, sorry bout that but if this is for real' I'm ordering mine this week!
 
Interesting. I never like being the guinea pig, but this could be legit.
 
I would advise dsmlink version 3 with gm maf pigtail. I do alot of tuning for kids in the area and I have talked alot of them into going to dsmlink from maf translators and other piggyback systems, and NEVER heard one of them say it was not worth the money.

My average tune on a car yeilds about 40-50 horse power on dsmlink.

I know its great and awsome and all, but that whatsnt anywhere in the question.

Can someone tell me if the wireing scimatic makes sense?, it seems pretty sinple..where is the power lead? they say there is a existing rpm lead..so there mustt be more to it then what we see.
 
Looks as good as the EVO III eBay know off turbo's... I wouldn't waste my money it. There is a reason it name brand parts cost as much as they do, remember you get what you pay for, and that is always true...

I have to disagree with your statement when it comes to electronics though. Until someone gets one to try it, we won't know for sure. The fact that he programmed in a display and wireless capabilities gives me some clue that he might know what he's doing. At least he has an electrical engineering degree.

It looks like it will do a pretty good job. I doubt it will be able to decipher the knock sensor data though.

I would really have to talk to someone from the company to find out the details before I purchased it though.

If the knock function actually works could be worth a shot. (for someone else to try). He should get one of the big guys like sbr, buscher etc. to give it a try then if it works should'nt be too hard to market or make an exclusive deal.

It aperantly has a density sensor to correct higher altitueds , but less tuning abilities.

butt wireing scematic is a little clearer and makes more sense.
The web site has lots of neat things like data logging .

Giving these unknown newer companys a chance is what the aftermarket world needs. mabye it will bring down the price of the "tried and tru's"

I still think that it would bee cool to try, but I'm not risking MY motor on something in "beta", especially since I DD my car.

I might try one of these out... Sounds pretty decent.. All you do it plug it into the obd2 port?? Whats involved in the installation??
 
i was gonna buy the smaller version without the display but i was wondering can it do the same as the one with the display with the only difference being you have to use a laptop. Personnaly i wouldn mind doin that to save a little money, plus im a college student anyway and my laptop usually rides shotgun with me anyhow. LOL

This is an interesting product with a really decent price you've got there!!

I was wondering if our DSM knock sensor could work with your product? I know you have an input for a knock sensor but it seems the DSM knock sensor is not an easy one to read and this function is not working on a SAFC unit.

Can you clarify this thing for us?

I would like to know a lot more about the tuning side of this, since right now I have a 2gmaf and 550 injectors (bigger than stock) to compensate. That's all I have for tuning. But I don't plan on ever going to a gm maf so that's not what I'm after, also a safc isn't tunable for big injectors.

Basically I want to get some 850's or 950cc injectors and tune for e-85. Would I have a hard time doing that using nothing but your product as a tuning tool? The ebay link doesn't give very good info about the product. Thanks
 
You have me greatly excited, and I'm definitely going to give this a chance, but I have a few more questions first.

1. How exactly is the software connected and if you don't get the translator with the screen you have to use a labtop correct? Will a mac work? How about a palm pilot?

2. You said that you have software to support the injectors, but do you have to download the software to change injector size or is it included with the software? Is there any charge to change a injector tune?

3. What are the different versions you've been mentioning?

4. Do you have a website? If so will you please PM it to me?

I'd go for it. It looks almost equivalent to a Maft Gen2 almost for much less cost.

I'm curious about the oxygen sensor thing. Is it like a target a/f where you punch in say 11:1 and it adjusts fuel automatically to get there? This would obviously be with a wideband.

Also though, I was wondering about the injector sizing, since this will lower the airflow frequency to match bigger injectors what effect will this have on the timing map? Guess it wouldn't be so bad since you can tune in rpm increments but I'm not sure :hmm:

You could still use the fuel controller to make small adjustments if necessary. It would eliminate having to reflash the ecu!
I've read there is only so many times you can reflash them, is this true?

Yes and no. Yes, there's a limit on the spec sheets. But as far as I know, no one has actually had an ECU stop working after crossing those limits.

And word is, they're working on a live tuning mod for the Evo 8 ecu that will kinda be like the Cobbs System. It will kinda tune itself. :sneaky:
If they get the 98/99 ecu flash working, I might go that route.

I just want to try the LeBeaux translator, since it's cheaper than the MAF-T. I kinda like being the guinea pig. :D
