hello ther guys, ive looked around but havent found my answer.

I need to replace the head on my car, and i was wondering if a 1st gen head would fit on a 2nd gen motor.

if it does, would it bolt straight on or would i have to do some work to it? if it doesnt work, does anybody know where i can get a 2g head for a good price? thanks for the help:confused:

Use the Search, this is definitely covered.
You can use it but not without modifications. There will be some wiring to do as well as the head bolts/studs are different sizes between the two as well as intake ports are different sizes requiring a 1g intake

dang it's a little more work thank i have time for right now, i guess i will just look for a 2g head. thanks a lot guys for your help.

Well what are your goals for the car 1st before you set off on this adventure of swapping the head? If you are not planning just to make the car an all out drag car i would leave the 2g head on there. That was my plan at first to make massive amounts of power but now the goals for my car have changed so now I have done what i could without having to switch the heads again to keep lots of low end power and tq
