J pipe bolts to the outlet of DSM MHI style turbos. It's shaped like a J, so they call it a J pipe. The serial number can be hard to read, the two most important numbers are stamped lightly on the compressor housing.

heres a pic of the engine bay,i dnt see a J pipe.

In the picture on the right it's the black tube under the radiator house. It connects the compressor side of the turbo to the lower intercooler pipe.

Edit: ^ That's what a j-pipe is...

It looks like you might have one it's sort of hard to tell. It'd be that black tube right behind the intake.

Edit edit: Unless you're running a maf-t, recirculate your bov.

yeh the bov is recirculated, idk if i have a maf-t.

Uhhhmmm... No, it's not recirculated. As you can clearly see in this picture in the indicated by the yellow circle. Also you can clearly see in the picture that you have a 2g MAS indicated by the red circle. Therefore, you need to recirculate the BOV.

Stock didn't have a J-pipe, it had an outlet pipe. Just look at where the turbo outlet, if anything is bolted onto the turbo outlet, it's the 16g. If it connects directly to piping, it's the t25.

This is the stock outlet pipe.

He has a 2g, I believe those ^ came stock on 1gs. Also, even if it looks like a 16g, it could be any Mitsu turbo. You'd have to check the numbers on the housing.

He's looking to buy another talon. He didn't specify if it was a 1g or 2g though.

I kno it looks like its not recirculated. but it is. There is no hose from the intake, its filled in. its 50% atmospheric and 50% vented.

also i would take the intake pipe and make sure its not a 14b if you dont check the serial#. 14b will have single vaned blades while 16g will have double vaned

how do you figure? if the port on your intake pipe is filled in its not recirced. the asshole who had my car before me did that check my pics. your car will run like crap. its either you are recirced or your not there is no 50-50

idk, how could u tell the diffrence? i was told it was 50/50 but i didnt think u could do tht either with dsm's.

if the bov wasnt recircing that air, even 50% of it your mas would read wrong, if the guy who is selling you the car told you this i would call the bullsh*t card and then def check the serial numbers on the turbo. then i would go over the car with a fine tooth comb cause there is no tellin what you could be getttin into if hes believing his bov is 50-50 recirced

he claims it is recirculating.I saw the maf was filled so i figured it was 50/50. This is the first turbo dsm im dealing with.Subaru's can have dual-vented bov's.
