Would it be possible to do this mod to the EVAP Purge Solenoid connector in a 2G Eclipse? I believe they are supposed to be at 38 ohms. The only thing I can think of that would keep this from working is if it's not enough wattage. Someone's math on here, I don't remember who had said that 38ohms would need a 5 watt resistor. I have the 33 ohm 1/2 watt resistor that is suggested in the thread. Someone even brought up the fact that the guy would technically need a 5 watt resistor but someone on the thread said it works just fine and the 1/2watt is enough to handle it. Let me know what you guys think.

The ohms are correct. I checked the resistance on the newer evap solenoid the ones that came in the late 97-99 2Gs and it's 32ohms. Only thing I was worried about was the wattage being only 1/2 watt. Well I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

Only thing that will happen if the wattage isnt the same is you will blow the resistor and throw a cel more than likely because it will be just like you unplugged the sensor. If it works for you post back up because i would like to know. I may try it anyways.

Didn't work. I guess our ECUs are a lot smarter than the SRT guy's ECUs.

I tried it with the 1/2 watt 33 ohm resistor just by sticking the wires in like they did, which didn't work. Then I put some quick disconnect ends on it so it would stick down in the connector and get a better connection, pretty much mimicking the solenoid's prongs. Didn't work. Then did the same thing with a 5 watt 39 ohm resistor. Didn't work either. Going to get some used solenoids and hope one of them clears the CEL.
