95 tsi awd, I just put a 6 bolt swap in about a month ago..... When i turn the ignition key all power turns on but, when i turn to start NOTHING, I have fuel going in and power to the starter... I know because if i take the + connection from a batter charger and connect it to the starter solienod.... THE car turns over beautifuly....... so i checked all my grounds and got a new starter.... nothing----------------

I unpluged they clutch relay ( supposivly better anyway) so i can start the car without the clutch engaged anyway..... have any suggestions...

thanks tone:talon:

Have you checked for spark yet? This can be done by removing the CAS and pulling one of the spark plugs out (leaving it attached to a plug wire) and then manually turning the CAS to see if it sparks or not.

also, so if i Remove the CAS, ( i rewired my 2g harness both Cam and crank sensor to the 6botl CAS so... I remove that... then i can put the + battery charger on turn the engine over and this should make spark?

if not then what?

Like i said powers on, I tried the CAS removal i did get spark....

I noticed when i turn the key, The Relay down under the dash on the Fuse box... CLICKS when i turn it over! does this mean its bad?

Ive looked over my fuses several times and all my wires... they all seem good

the relay is my only thought at the moment... anyone have any advise for me

thanks tone

are you getting a starter whirling noise? if not then you need to check to make sure power is going to the starter, if it isnt then figure out where the power from the battery is going. After you have found out if the starter has power then take the starter to autozone and get it tested, if it fails replace it. Since you have spark it is most likely a dead starter

thanks gs .... but No theres no whirling noise and the starters brand new...ALSO THERE NO SPARK ( i thought i had chewcked it before but NO no there is no spark sorry!!.....................

While I am under the dash at the fuse box... When I turn ignition over to start, there is a clicking noise in one of the relays.... I ran a test light on the Starter solenoid switch, and i got 0 results....

no power going to the switch on the harness while being turned over.....

starters good no fuses blown, ground, and relay making clicking noise

motor will turn over fine manually with battery charger connected to starter...

LOL no idea... I did try to remove the relay that is clicking... and no luck it wouldnt budge and i didnt want to rip the damn thing out...

Questions...
Do the relays come out to replace or will i need a new fuse box..
Why would this not turn over now, its has only been a month in my garage.. could it be a ground problem?
What can cause the starter solenoid wire 2 no be getting power?

After this shes ganna be a beast my friends... help me outtt thanks a bunch

ok, there should be a cable running from your battery postive terminal to your starter, find this but before you inspect it for a break or grounding on the car body check to make sure you have voltage in your battery. After that follow the positive battery terminal looking for bare wire and trace it to where it connects with the starter

P.S it is rare but it can happen that you get a bum starter straight out of the box. If you have power going to the starter and its still not making noise take it back

I have check the wires no damage and I dont think it is the starter ( because if i put power to the starter it will work--- the starter will turn the car over very nicely-- but there is a RED + wire that runs to the starter and a little black wire that runs to the soleniod on the starter and that lil black an yellow wire gets NO JUICE- even when i turn ignition over...
brand new battery and chargers on it everyday

im still curious about this relay and how to check this out

let me know

thanks again
