Will a keydriver chip and an afc be ok for injectors like 850 or 950 cc? Im not gonna have that big of a turbo, thinking of a 18g, but I want big injectors because I will sometimes be running E85. Would the car still run fine on pump with injectors that big with just an eprom chip?

You will have a hard time fine-tuning it and getting it to idle with those size injectors paired with an afc..

Is your setup different than whats in your profile?

From my understanding when you order a key diver chip you tell him what size injectors your running and he programs the chip to make whatever size injectors you have run like stock. Also you can use your afc to fine tune with. some people just leave their afc zero'd out and have no problems. Im sure if you search you will find out more info.

key driver chips are good to make the car start and run. they require fine tunning because everyones setup is diffrent. I would assume if you have a key driver chip wideband and safc2 you maybe albe to get the car to run pretty good. an safc2 is good for 650s max but thats with a stock chip set for 450s. it is possible but i would say get somthing better to tune with then safc2

Yes you could run that big of injectors with just a chip and safc. I just got my chip from dsmchips and havent touched my safc yet and it runs better than before. As for E85 from my understanding you cant just run E85 and then run pump at your leisure but I will let someone that knows more about E85 answer that one for you. :p

I have 950's and a KeyDiiver chip. I'm switching to e85 when the tank is empty. I've tuned e85 cars with DSMLink in the past. I've chosen to go with a key diver and chip and save my beans for an AEM EMS

I didnt notice the e85 comment. No you cant just run pump then e85. the thing with e85 is thats its like race gas at the pump. But it requires 15% more fuel just curisng around as far as at wot it requires %30 more so if you were to just switch you would lean out your car or make it run super rich. you would need two seperate tunes not to metion safc2 wouldnt be the best thing to tune e85 on need somthing more advanced

Im running keydiver chip with dual image I can flip a switch and Im on the 93 pump map then I can flip the switch and then Im on the e85 map Im very close, Im out of injector with the 950cc. Im at 94% injector duty cycle on the e85 @24psi and this is on a borg warner s258. Im ordering 1150cc from keydiver which should be plenty for my goals. I ran just the chip for a longest time Im tunning with the keydiver chip and gen2 I still have the gen 2 zeroed out and Im letting the chip that jeff has tuned do all the work. I highly recomend keydiver chips and jeff excellent customer service is by far the best in the business:thumb::thumb::thumb:

+1 NOBODY has better customer service than Jeff!!! If you have a problem he will make it right!

I would recommend his option of converting old boost gauge to knock sum. When I compare the knock sum to my logger - it exactly tracks timing being pulled. Add a wide band and safc and you can get your tune real close!

This topic is something I need to be in on. I am going to be getting bigger injectors as well in February closer to spring to get ready for the summer. My setup as of right now is Big T28, 190 fuel pump, 3 inch Full exhaust (Downpipe, high Flow Cat etc) Im probably not going to go bigger than 650's for injectors and I too was gonna run Eprom because my car came with it, so I was gonna send off for tuning. Now, do I need to run SAFC as well??? In the future I probably am only going to go bigger turbo like the GT35r. Please give me some insight..

no, i have a different setup now. Im basically back to stock now but making plans on getting a bigger turbo. I allready have a 255 pump. So with those size injectors and the chip the car will run fine?

go to the web site dsmchips.com. shoot Jeff an email with your current mods and what you want out of them. Chances are he can get you so close you won't even need the safc or wideband.

HOWEVER it is always safer to know just what your engine is doing and have a way to fine tune it. ********

I have a Keydiver chip and SAFC with 950's, also a dual image chip. The car runs like a champ on both pump 91 and e85, and has absolutely no issues idling on either. If you have the money, get a wideband too, but out of the box, the tune on his chip is almost perfect. Here's a thread about my setup.
